Most of them were dabbles that I didn't save *STUPID STUPID STUPID ME!*, but this one made me a believer:

Oh, and this one is cute: http://cycnus39.livejournal.com/275500.html#cutid1

180. That's a decent reason.

[identity profile] lanjelin.livejournal.com 2008-07-26 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
102: Though death is a bit disproportionate a punishment maybe?

152: Wait, I thought Hisana never really loved Byakuya as he loved her? Or am I misremembering things?

154: You could just scroll past the posts you disagree with if they bother you this much? But really, it's what happens when people congregate, these dissenting opinions.

158: Actually, passionate interaction between strong characters is extremely hot, so I think it's only natural to react this way. XD

I mean, it's not as if it eliminates other aspects and interpretations of their characters, is it?

165: SO MUCH AGREEMENT. I really wish they'd made more seasons with him. *sigh*

171: I actually think those books are probably ideal for the 12-14 range. They've got the perfect balance of Mary-Sue protagonist with tragic teenager mindset and silly, melodramatic romance, both of which most of us crave at that age, and it opens up for better reading later on. Though a healthier view of human sexuality would have been great, though.

175: I started watching it expecting to be disappointed, but instead I was pleasantly surprised in many ways. What I liked best was while the characters were embodying common clichés (the Tsundere, the Rei-type, the Doormat-girl, and so on), the anime was aware of it, played with it, and best of all, had the rest of the world react realistically to it.

Which is why I don't think Haruhi is a Mary Sue - her behaviour gets the appropriate consequences.

188: Maybe it's just that porn is a lot easier to comment on? Sometimes when I read really awesome fic, I just don't know how to communicate my feelings on it; I think about it too much, and end up not commenting at all.

(Anonymous) 2008-07-26 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Death a disproportionate punishment for years of child abuse? I don't think so.

YAY! Tales of Destiny! My favorite Tales game! Yea, the american version is hard as anything to find. It came out for the PS1 back in around '97? '98? not sure, late 90's. Try ebay. I've seen a few there.

If you want, they made a PS2 remake, but it's only available for Japanese PS2s.

[identity profile] karma-kalisutah.livejournal.com 2008-07-26 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
111. Does anyone who's read Twelfth Night and is also into the fandom scene not slash the characters? It's pretty much the queerest script ever written before before Russel T. Davies started his career, and I love it to bits. And I know I've seen at least two Viola/Olivia fics on livejournal before.

165. I'm right there with you. You never forget your first.

And wow a lot of today's secret posters have serious issues.

[identity profile] ann89103.livejournal.com 2008-07-26 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
125. Thank God, it's not just me!

136. Mmmm, yeah. Best scene in the movie!

178. Why so serious? :-)

188. I completely understand. Same thing happened to me in Weiss Kreuz fandom. It's been over a year, and I still have a hard time writing for the fandom now.

Because relating to a violent, psychosociopathic terrorist who maims, kills and is destructive for pleasure is generally frowned upon in society.

At least where I'm from anyway.

;)

Pretty kickass movie, I'm glad I saw it.

173 (and 115 and all the other Twilight secrets)

(Anonymous) 2008-07-26 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
173. Now, I admit that when I first starting to read it, I really liked the books. But about halfway through the second book I was like "WTF, this is a bunch of BS and absolutely terrible in EVERY WAY. edward is a creepy stalker and jacob isn't much better. get over yourself, bella"

Then Kristen Stewart was cast as Bella and I happen to really like her. I really want the movie to suck because...OMG THE BOOKS SUCK...but at the same time...KRISTEN. I dont want her movie to flop..but...you know. Shame on her for DOING a movie based on such a piece of shit. And the promo picture for this secret just...really instills that Edward is super creepy.

LOOK at how he's holding her arm. LOOK at the expression on her face. She looks slightly scared. Maybe Kristen realized that this movie? BAD IDEA.

And is anyone else slightly terrified of the fans of Twilight? because they are batshit.

115. "losing faith in the literary interests of [your] generation" because they enjoy Twilight is kind of stupid. I don't think anyone is trying to make Twilight out to be high literature akin to Dickens. Who cares if it's terrible? Are we not allowed to enjoy both good and bad literature?

That Bella/Meyer comparison is kind of hilarious, though. I loled.

115 O: I like this secret. Whoever you are, you are amazing, and I agree. The fans will make this movie rake in the big bucks, but I can't wait for the satisfaction of the critics ripping it apart. I'm just hoping it doesn't kill Edi Gathegi's career. He's an excellent actor and I just don't know how he got wrapped into this movie.

118 You know, I really would NOT doubt it.XD I think I heard somewhere that they DO read some of the fanfic out there, so why wouldn't they sockpuppet fansites?:x

143 Finally someone understands! I have to admit, I never really sought out Heath's career until he died. I always loved A Knight's Tale, but besides that, I never really was a big fan. It wasn't until his death that I really found out what a good actor he was and how much range he had. I haven't seen TDK yet, but as far as I can tell his Joker is amazing and he would be getting praise for the performance either way.

128: I don't think I entirely understand the context of you telling him that (did you get an autograph or something?), but Ted Leo is a pretty damn cool guy and whatever it is, don't worry about it. Even if I didn't already think that, he was so awesome when I got an autograph (he recognized my extremely obscure name and got all excited because he knew exactly where it came from) that I have to say that no matter what. XD

And yeah I'm a little paranoid he's going to be like "oh god it's that weird girl" next time I see a show, so maybe I should shut up.

Ahahahah you're so juvenile. Shinou fucking a woman and her getting pregnant doesn't really mean the same thing as "he ended up with her in the end." The Original King and the Great Sage are still together through Shinou and Murata. As are Conrad and Julia. XD

Re: 179

(Anonymous) 2008-07-27 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, you are seriously in denial.

Until the series gives me some proof that there was indeed something between Shinou and the Great Sage (or Shinou and Murata even, since what I see is, at most, some teasing affection, and not OMG!LOVE), then I'm not inclined to believe that they have any sort of relationship besides what's shown.

As for Conrad and Julia... they were never "together" in the first place, considering she was engaged to Adalbert and seemed pretty set on marrying him, so that comparison just falls flat right there. XP

And if you're implying that Conrad and Julia are "still together" through Conrad and Yuuri... Ahahahahahaha!! I laugh at you.
