152, I love Sirius. I've defended him against friends, I've sobbed with the best of them, but I've got to tell you, it won't be too hard to find a man like Sirius.

The guy was pretty mean... he kept the mind of a young man, with good reason, prison isn't kind to people, but he's not a 'great' guy. A great character yes! Someone I would want even though I know he's flawed, yeah! Really you just need to look for a fiercely loyal, immature, quick witted, man/boy. There are plenty of those out there.

Really though, I'm with you as far as your love for him.

108. I've actually considered doing that, but (1) It'd be too obvious who I was, and (2) ...I can never think of something that will stir the pot.

116. I recently lost my second job, too (a few months ago) since the store closed. So I sort of know how it is. I'm glad it helped you feel better! <3 (The tour for that show is coming to my town soon...I'm considering going to see it.)

154. ...Oh-ho-ho. XD;; I'm a Republican, but that seems a little harsh. They MIGHT still win, and...well, at least they didn't nominate Hilary.

171. I do that sometimes! XD

180. Lies! Chrono Crusade's female lead is flawed--VERY flawed--but totally badass. (I'm speaking more to the manga than the anime. They wrecked her in the anime.) I'd suggest something for a western fandom, too, but...that's where I start hitting a wall. Pushing Daisies' chuck isn't TOO bad, I think, but still needs a bit more character development.

[identity profile] xanykaos.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
180. Chuck, IMHO, has just as much character development as anyone else on the show. It's a very storybook-like narrative, so the characters are painted in bright, broad strokes, with little subtleties added very gradually. But it would be unfair to single Chuck out as being less of a three-dimensional character than Ned, Olive, or Vogler-guy.

In Western fandoms, there's always Katara and Toph from Avatar. Donna from Doctor Who. EVERY SINGLE FEMALE IN FIREFLY (Whoo, I'd love to hear someone call Zoe a Mary Sue to her face). Thorn of Bone. Snow White, Rose Red, Goldilocks, Beauty, Briar Rose, and again, pretty much every single female in Fables. Door of Neverwhere, Molly Grue of The Last Unicorn, Sophie in Howl's Moving Castle (the book)...

177- Because he changed things. He made a huge role model for women, well not only that, but men too. His pop culture references in the diálogo(sorry for Spanish, can't think of how English word is spelled)are great, they make it that much more enjoyable.

Not to mention the man is just funny all around. Have you watched any of the comic-con clips? He is hilarious.

anon who made the secret:

I have never liked a damn thing JJ Abrams has done. I tried to watch Lost. I didn't like the Fringe pilot. Didn't care much for Alias, though it's better than the previous two I mentioned.

Absolutely hated Cloverfield.

Armageddon was okay.

I think the movie is just going to be full of so much fail, from an acting and writing standpoint, and it kills me.

123. honestly with all these secrets stating essentially the same thing, i'd start to wonder what is wrong with society. then i think, chances are they are only posting these secrets as fakes. then again i wonder what is wrong with society.

137. i felt the same way after LotR. I wasn't obessed with finding info, but once the movies were over.... I wasn't as excited about them anymore. the waiting was half the fun (or more).

140. THANK YOU! I get so frustrated whenever I see someone go "I hate the endings" I mean that's your perogative, I guess, but I just want to tell them to think for a second. I'm not saying all tv should be about thinking, or whatever, but if you don't like it, stop complaining. Don't watch it. Ignore it. Some people like it, and you harshing on it, is harshing our mellow.

152. Aw I totally Understand. I can never read that part of the 5th book without crying, I have had to skip past it the past few times. Just because it breaks my heart. I can't stand it.

154. LOL WANK. Still, I'm gonna be sad if you're right, and I think it's a definite possibility.

Too many good secrets this week

101 Weddings are overrated and a huge waste of money.
113 I would've made a Darjeeling secret if this wasn't a secret, but since the movie is sort of about birth order I've associated each one of the brothers with me or one of my sisters, so imagining someone wanting to fuck Brody's character is like imagining someone trying to fuck my sister.
127 Wow, a rich head of a powerful company trying to take responsibility for what his company does? How is that not heroic exactly? It's possible to develop weapons for good purposes (sometimes it's necessary to kill people to keep them from harming other people), and it wasn't Stark's intent for them to end up in the hands of terrorist cells. By the way, CEO =/= board of directors as the movie PAINFULLY illustrates. Maybe if you know how corporations work or how the movie is about taking personal responsibility for your own actions, then you would get it.
TL;DR you are a total idiot.
137 There's plenty of porn fanart to look forward to.
145 It terrifies me because I read that book a long as time ago, and WHAT THE FUCK IT IS SO MISOGYNISTIC. As in, a character gets raped AND LIKES IT. WHAT THE FUCK ALAN MOORE. I hate how shit like this gets magically glossed over somehow once it becomes a fucking movie.
156 I don't even know who that guy is or what the show is, but I'm sorry you got hospitalized. :(
170 WATCH LEGEND OF GALACTIC HEROES IT IS THE BEST ANIME EVER
It's so good it's not even a fucking anime (well, it's based on a series of novels, but yeah)
Sorry, that had little to do with Tylor besides "space opera"ishness and older anime. But I agree with you that 98% of all anime is crap.
174 Heheh, I was thinking that too. I always thought Begins was a little weak because there wasn't enough Scarecrow and everything hinged on the origin story (which was based more on the newer incarnation of Batman).

[identity profile] kuromitsu.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, good to know I wasn't the only one who immediately thought of LoGH. :D

Btw, I always thought Yang was obviously the source material for Tylor...

[identity profile] glamourcorpse.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
127. It's a story about redemption and how the person you described becomes someone else. Someone better. If someone that bad, jerky and spoiled can become a hero, it gives other people hope. It's not even close to being about sympathy. How did you miss that message? Either you are actually trying to make wank despite your saying to the contrary, or you outright weren't listening when you watched it.

116.

[identity profile] redstapler.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
116. Oh man, that show is incredible. "For Now" and "Fine, Fine Line" have at turns gutted me and given me strength.

130

[identity profile] x-drear-x.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Yaoi manga is not a particularly good place to look for interesting stories and characters - when a title comes under that genre, it's likely that it's aimed at those types of people you mentioned, unfortunately.

I find it much more satisfying to read/watch stuff that actually has good male characters in it, then make do with doujinshi and fic/western fandom to satisfy your primal urges for the gay.

130

[identity profile] davaidavaidavai.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
