106: Have you tried ihasatardis? It's funny DW macros (with Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures also allowed). I don't know if you're into macro comms, but it falls under the "we don't take ourselves too seriously" thing you're looking for. ^_^

I still do like ihasatardis, but after falling out with the show I just couldn't keep up with all the references so stopped going as frequently. But they are a lot of fun!

Edited to add: I mean, okay, there's a bit of dubiously consensual groping in the first episode, and Misaki has a way of saying "no" but meaning "yes" which, well, it didn't bother me but I can see why it would bother other people. But I don't see how you get "obsessed paedophile" out of that. "Dude with boundary issues who should listen more and not be so determined to get his own way", maybe.

I'm glad I'm not the only sadistic bastard who did this. One person figured that something terrible (or perhaps horrible) had to happen because I said "I got Jossed," but didn't quite know what it would be. I laughed at all of their wrong predictions and deliberately made it seem like they were all true.

I think that if what you mentioned at the bottom of the secret happened it would be kind of a cop-out. Unless it ended up going delightfully wrong somehow.

157. Believe me, it's not limited to yaoi fics... Personally, I've found the best way to write the way you want is to read a lot of literature you like and try to emulate it. After a while, you begin to develop your own style. (Note: the only things I write are fanfiction and RP logs; this is what's worked for me. If you're going for REAL LIFE AUTHOR, maybe the process should be different. *shrug*)

ETA: Oh, wait. You're talking about writing the actual smut? I have no tips, then! Sorry... I haven't written smut in a long time, but as one person above me said: there's only so many ways to write "he thrust into 'so-and-so's' ass." Often times, I think that's enough. How many times is he going to do it, after all?

My suggestion is find a betareader who shares similar writing taste.

I think 141 is less about young girls not reading classics as much as it is people are becoming disgusted with some of the messages and portrayals of relationships that are inherent in the books. I know that I would be hesitent to have that book be the only book my daughter is reading.

101. I don't get the "OMG, IT HAS A SAD ENDING! I HATE IT" wank that seems to be tagged with this. It has a sad ending. And? Does every story need to finish happily in order to be worthy of popularity?

Plus, if it was a happy ending with Penny and Billy riding off into the sunset on Bad Horse, where would you go from there? Have the next potential episode of them keeping house? Oh, yeah, that would be so interesting.

With the given ending you can continue the story. Billy can have a redemption plot.

Or not. But there is always that option.
