If you *really* only write stuff for yourself, stuff it in a drawer somewhere, or show it to RL friends.

If you put stuff on the net, you will meet people who will love your stuff and shower you with praise, and people who hate your stuff and will take pleasure in flaming you. There is no way of getting only the first group to read your stuff.

Either learn to laugh it off, or don't post in the first place.

I am losing it for myself and for my family. I'm using him as extra incentive to do it, to help keep me on track. If I can lose the weight and I get to meet him and feel better about myself when I meet him, that will make me very happy.

Idk, it's difficult to tell what's going on in that scene. She kisses Handy, and some people think that she made her choice, but I think she was just acting on impulse and that the second Brown!Ten turned away and walked into the TARDIS, she regretted it. Which makes it even more tragic! I don't see how anyone could think that the ending was positive for Rose and Handy-Doctor :(

112. Yeah, I've been wondering that too. Even within Batman itself, Nolan is just rehashing and repackaging statements made in comics so famous modern DC is built on their acronyms:

"Joker was just doing his TKJ thing, though I wish the ending had been a little more DKR but the whole thing was pretty much just Year One..."

I don't think it's just us "introverted freaks" who spend time analyzing this, but it is true that the average person can't be bothered to think beyond the parable unless they're, like, an English student being versed in the value of authorial intent or something. Us fandom folks tend to belong to the segment of society that derives joy from peeling off a story's skin and taking a good long look at its organs; a lot of other people can just appreciate a pretty face without seeing the nasal cavities.

Long story short: yes and no to your supposition, but also the hype is affecting people's judgement and truthfully, isn't that hype a little fun? XDDD

It's not that I've never encountered the parable before or contemplated its meaning, it's just that I rarely see a movie that pulls it off so beautifully as TDK. But then again, I don't watch a huge number of movies, and I've also never read any Batman comics. So maybe I automatically fail.
