171. Whenever anyone says Sephiroth's the best FF villain ever, I laugh and politely remind them that Kefka's the only one who's ever actually accomplished his goals of, y'know, destroying and taking over the world. Sure, he got his in the end, but he was still the must successful of the FF bunch.

What an unbelievably arrogant thing to say. People are enjoying The Dark Knight because it's a good movie, and it's well-presented. But if it makes you feel better to think that it's just you versus stupid closed-minded "normal" people then, well, by all means continue.

So much in agreement here. I was the only one in my group of friends who had read the book beforehand, and they gave me such nasty looks once we got out of the movie and I complained (about those same things that you just did. Also, the changing of Michael to Markl made me incredibly angry) that I never spoke about it again. Also why I never talk about books I'm reading with them any more.

106. I just saw Dark Knight for the first time today! I thought it was a really entertaining movie. It kept me focused and enthralled the entire time, and I was speechless by the end. The lighting was magnificent, the acting fantastic, and I have realised that I love movies based on comics, especially nowadays when they can be so epic. So anyway, I sort of understood the Joker on a basic level, but I don't believe in the things he did. The whole hero/villain thing being based on the psychology of the town's citizens was a nice grain to think about as well, though there were a few parts that were anticlimactic, like the Joker's eventual detainment. It was depressing that Rachel really did die, and a part of me wishes that Bruce actually did get to read her letter. Anyway, I haven't read any fic yet, but eventually I'll get around to it. I didn't really see any slashiness in the movie, which is weird because I can't take my slash goggles off, and the romance was pretty much nonexistent, but a movie doesn't have to have romance to be good, you know; I mean, I loved it anyway. The angst and the stunts were more than enough to make me happy. Have you seen how long the previews take these days? I was sitting there for like twenty minutes waiting for the actual movie to start. Watchmen looked kind of good, but I don't want to turn into some crazy nutjob who knows nothing about it and yet wets their pants for the movie. I should probably find some Dark Knight icons, but I've already used up all my icons and maybe it's just time to spend two dollars to buy a few more slots, huh? To conclude, I enjoyed Batman and can't wait for the next movie, which is inevitable, because no one can let franchises die anymore. Also--
