114. Excel Saga FTW! The fandom is very small, but it's there. An anime that finished years ago and a manga that's caught up with the Japanese releases a new volume here is only released once a year (and really hard to translate to boot) doesn't help :( Someone already linked to the forum. Sadly I kind of stopped following that fandom. The manga is epic though.

134. Gintama! Double FTW! And I feel you on all accounts. Though with almost all things Shounen Jump being popular over here, it wouldn't surprise me if the anime was licensed very soon. (Then again, the culture references.) They've got the manga already anyway. Could do without the wank (the series is lulzful enough) but more fic and art plz!

136 Yes. I completely agree. It isn't that I didn't like the songs, or the creator, or the actors. I just... was meh about the story. It seemed like it was too big for the time alloted.

143 (All of f!s (omg ego) probably knows I'm a Stargate fangirl by now, but:) YES. I loved, loved, loved this part of the movie, and the Sha're (Sha'uri, grr) storyline in the pilot of SG-1 is the ENTIRE reason it took me ten years to watch the rest of the series (lol DURR, it took everyone ten years! I meant, I didn't start watching till this year, bought the boxed set and watched all ten seasons in a month). Luckily the woman they cast to replace the amazing actress from the film was so awful I was glad she was gone.

I started learning Russian, and I had trouble pronouncing some of the names because I wasn't sure half of the time on how they were transliterating it.

Unfortunately, the first time I read the book was through slasher goggles. I shouldn't be donning them when reading classics. I really shouldn't.

Has that been confirmed? It might just be the suit creating that illusion. I distinctly remember reading in several places that the actor put on weight to play Dan (and considering the purported amount of detail he insisted on in his "Owl Lair"- Twilight Lady picture and all!- I can't see him skimping out on that part).

136. I read the first book when I was 19, and I only got into the fandom 6 months after the last book came out due to personal reasons - and it's still more active than any other fandom I know. I wouldn't worry too much, there will always be conventions!
