What fictional characters do you find most relatable? Why? Are there any that people would find unexpected or surprising?

Bilbo Baggins. I too just want to stay home and be left alone. But people keep dragging me along to help with their problems.

Harry Potter. I used to wear hand me downs, had to do chores, didn't have friends, never celebrated my birthday, didn't get Christmas presents, was constantly talked down to by my mother.

Bilbo, Boromir, Hermione and also Harry (honestly I never got why Ron was supposed to be the one everyone related to, because the other two were much more relatable to me), Dean Winchester, Buffy and also a bit Willow, Luke Skywalker, Donna Noble, Bill Potts.

I really relate to Tommy Vercetti's anger and resentment at being treated as disposable by the Mafia despite his loyalty and service. Nobody who knows me would be surprised by that, though.

definitely hermione as a kid. honestly, there are definitely more, but she's the first one to come to mind for sure.

There's a children's book called The Star Fisher that I read over and over again because I really related to the main character, Joan Lee. She was the oldest and had to share a room with her little sister. She was responsible for her younger siblings and often acted as an interpreter for her Chinese-speaking parents. I really understood the awkwardness that one feels when interpreting and both parties are being rude and insisting you translate their rudeness, but your own sensibilities don't allow you to do so.

Regular-Sized Rudy from Bob's Burgers because he's a pretty fully-realized character who has asthma. I feel like a lot of the asthmatic characters I see in media are defined by being ~the sick kid~, and as much as I love, say, Stevie from Malcolm in the Middle, it's nice to see characters who aren't 100% defined by their asthma. (Any recs for similar character would be appreciated - just sayin'.)

Katherine/Katarina/Kate from Taming of the Shrew. I’m jaded and bitter after a lifetime of having social expectations pushed on me, I prefer to isolate myself but may possibly be lonely deep down, and I have no intention of ever getting married. And I have a nearly perfect younger sibling, to boot.

If I ever met a Petruchio, though, I would call the police. Living in the 2000s has perks.

i related to all bookish, nerdy, unpopular characters, especially hermoine or anne (of green gables)

awkward, gawky, "Not Fitting In", because i was often bullied for knowing things, for being smart, for preferring books to socializing.

Anyone play? Looking for some challenge mode ideas to try. Stuff like "Florist run = flowers only," that kind of thing

Hmm, maybe animals only? I'd imagine it would be hard in the beginning. Nit so hard when you're swimming in truffles. Or maybe foraging + wild seeds only? That's all I got. :P

The main SV challenge I know of is the "finish the Community Center in the first year" challenge.

Aw man, I wish I'd checked in here yesterday, but I was too busy playing Stardew Valley! If anyone's still interested, I'm doing a challenge where I can only leave my farm once a week, on Sundays, to upgrade things, buy seeds and animals, etc. The rest of the week, I can only take advantage of what's actually on the farm map itself. So relying a lot on planting tree seeds, cutting shrubs for wild seeds, fishing for treasures (I chose the fishing-centric map for that reason). One thing I learned is that the shrubs will spread as long as you leave a few alone, though unfortunately I only have one or two left after my initial clearing.
