YOU ARE SO NOT ALONE
Everything about that show's art style creeps me out; the faces, the bodies, EVERYTHING. There's just so many fucking angles; especially triangles, and it just irritates me beyond words O_O

Also, there was a secret like this a while back that I saved because it perfectly sums up what I (and you) feel:

Not OP, but yeah, I feel like that too - and the worst thing is, I know I'd love the storyline and I'd find the characters interesting and, and, and... but I just can't get into it because for me, the art makes it completely unwatchable.

142. The solution is to find friends who you can hang out with both in RL and online. That way, if you feel like not seeing anyone, you can just drop a note online and keep in touch that way. It works for me, at least. You can also just say straight to your friends that you want to spend some time alone to recharge. Most people should accept that. And if someone calls you and you don't feel like talking, ask them to call back the following day. You don't have to be bitchy to take care of yourself, and if people have problems with you wanting alone-time, it's their problem. You don't owe anything to anyone.

142. I agree with being happy with a nearly non-existant social life. I get along quite well with people when I do socialize, but I don't like being around people all the time. I kind of hate it when there are guests visiting me, or if I'm visiting someone else, because I'm expected to be with them ALL THE TIME and having some time alone is important to me. I love being with them, of course, but being around people 24/7 stresses me out. I usually end up feigning sickness (or not, since I always get sick when I travel) to get a few hours to myself.

I'm a Catholic too and plenty of very Good Catholics are fine with slash, homosexuality, contraception, sex before marriage etc. It doesn't make you a bad Catholic in any way, I don't think, after all- it's not against the Creed and the portions in the bible can be subject to scholarly interpretation. The way I see it is that the Pope is Head of the Church on Earth, yeah? but he's still a man- just as you get bad/dislikable priests and good priests- doesn't make you less of a Catholic provided you believe all the key points (the Creed, transubstantiation etc) and do your Obligation :). I hardly think God minds you reading the odd bit of slash any more than He objects to my grandmother (very VERY VERY good Catholic) to reading the odd Mills and Boon novel.

People ship Mo with the people they ship him with because that's what canon gave us. Canon gave us Mohinder and not!Zane's Excellent Adventure; canon gave us Matt and Mo in a house with an adopted kid. Now canon is giving us Mo and Maya (and I for one am going to give them right back). NONE of these people was ever going to be a healthy relationship for Mo. If you want a healthy relationship, go read Peter/Mohinder. Or Bennet/Mohinder. Or Eden/Mohinder, except she was totally lying to him. Let's face it: Heroes shipping? So not about the HEALTHY.

If you want a healthy relationship, go read Peter/Mohinder. Or Bennet/Mohinder.

But they're fucked up, too. Peter has psychological issues just like Maya. Actually, a lot of his issues are very similar to hers: a potentially lethal power they cannot control, the brother they love dearly, but lose (again and again in Peter's case), the bad guy who uses them for his own ends (for Peter, not only Angela, Linderman, Nathan but also Adam). He also has to cope with his family's involvement with the Company. He caused the death of his girlfriend by proxy, and it his inability to time-travel properly left his other girlfriend stranded in some wiped-out timeline.
Healthy relationship?

Bennet, too. He started out stalking Mohinder and sending spies after him, broke into his apartment to threaten him, and tried shooting Molly. When they were partners, Bennet never treated Mohinder as an equal but only really used him, he pressured him to experiment on Monica, kept information from him, made it clear that he'd easily sacrifice bother Mohinder's and Molly's life if it meant protecting his own family, and was very quick to want to execute Mohinder when he was helpless on the ground.

You have a very odd idea of what constitutes a healthy relationship.
