130. I stopped reading most MattMo and Mylar fics because too many of them were OOC. I don't think Mohinder will ever be able to maintain a healthy sexual relationship with anyone ever. However, if he can find something good with Maya and she with him and it is written well (yes, the writers are capable of creating interesting romantic relationships), I'm all for Mohinder/Maya.

147.) I never thought that CS Lewis meant for Susan to be read as atheistic, just irreligious. She had lost herself in modern materialism and could no longer experience the mysticism of Narnia and Aslan. Or something. (or, she became a woman and feminine sexuality is rife with original sin and therefore she wasn't allowed back to Narnia. WHATEVER)

151.) OH! I agree! I've always thought Persuasion was her best, most subtle and realistic book of all. Reading it, I find it amazing that she was never married. Her insight into mature love (and married people) is so right on.

119. I honestly don't know how I'd feel about getting more FMA secrets. On one hand, if the new anime is manga-based, they might make me happy. But FMA fandom generally tends to annoy the hell out of me these days, so chances are I won't like them. *sigh*

142. I can relate to this so much. I've had roomates in college who would have people constantly calling them at all hours of the day and night, and I just couldn't understand how they could stand that. I'm the type of person content to be in regular contact with only one or two people at a time in real life, and that's why casual internet friendships work the best for me overall.

I'm not actually a member of any of the comms. I was for a bit, and was actually active.

I don't care about new fans coming into MY fandoms. I'm not elitist about that sort of thing. Fandom doesn't belong to me. It doesn't owe me anything.

Things that are different and hard to deal with? The fanfic and general slash. Not only have the soldiers themselves been active in the fandom, but so have family members of the actors. When the fandom started, they used to join communities and read the posts. They replied to people, sent e-mails to fans. I hope they still aren't reading these things. I can't imagine how they would react.

Also, I've encountered a lot of self-proclaimed historians who act superior because they think they know so much more about BoB and war history. Except that most of them are wrong half of the time. And I don't think you have to know these things to enjoy BoB. I think you don't have the right to be a pompous ass about that knowledge, especially when you don't actually know anything.

See... My problem with the newer people I've encountered is the same problem you have with the person you perceive me to be. BoB fandom was never as elitist as it is now.

If he were a real person, I'd say, homg Momo don't have sex with the scary killer man, but this is fiction, where we explore different possibilities and storylines. And I find Mohinder/Sylar dynamics incredibly intriguing. There's no good ship or evil ship, just one you prefer. Plus a lot of people are jealous of the huge Mylar fanbase. :/

I bet they're great and interesting, but if you want to take a stab at organized religion, take a stab at the organized religions that actually exist. It seems like he could have done this and still kept it in a fantasy world.

...Jealous? Please tell me you're not serious. There's a big difference between "jealous of" and "hugely annoyed at because it refuses to ever shut up EVER." Overexposure is not a good thing, and Mylar has it in spades.

Of course, that's just me. Maybe there are people who are jealous of the size of the Mylar fanbase, but I've never come across any. Seems like kind of a silly thing to be jealous of, really.

161) I am not caught up with Fairy Tail at all, but it's so nice to see Mashima Hiro's work touch you emotionally. People are too quick to toss him aside as Oda Eiichiro's copycat or plain ol' generic shounen. He may not be the best storyteller ever -- he'll even admit to making plotholes in the Rave omake pages -- but he's got such a sound grasp on characters that you can't not feel for them.

I found myself rather bored throughout the rest of it though. It's a beautiful story, but the writing just didn't do it for me through most of it.
