188- The protection thing didn't bother me because a lot of people in that time didn't wear protection. And yeah, while I liked the movie a lot, it probably was so popular due to it having a gay themed romance at the core. I don't actually have a problem with that. Maybe if we had more of them out there instead of having it mainly only happen in indie, straight to video movies then that wouldn't be the case. I'd be more than happy for enough of these types of movies to come out (w/both guys living please!) that they can be judged solely on their strengths and weaknesses and not on the fact that there is gay content but that won't happen for a while due to closed minded assholes out there.

I wanted to add that I disagree that it's ONLY the gay content that made it popular if that's the way I made it sound. Just that I do at least agree that it gained more attention due to the gay content rather than just the regular affairs we see in Hollywood movies. Not that there's anything wrong with that IMO and I agree with other comments that it wouldn't have made sense content-wise if they hadn't been gay.
