104. Actually it's perfectly normal, and anyone who tells you otherwise is a completely inept.

But you know what gets to me? The fact that a woman always comes every time, in every het smut out there. (Except for like, ONE fanfic I've read so far, and it was amazingly written.) It's perfectly normal for a woman to NOT reach her climax too, but fandom's warped it to the point that I feel self conscious, like there's something's wrong with me if I can't.

Yeah, she is immortal, which makes things slightly more complicated, but people tend to judge creepiness by looks rather than actual age - hence people shipping sixteen-year-old girls with hundred-year-old vampires, but not with eighty-year-old men who've actually aged. And probably why people will ship Ai x Ren but not Ai x Wanyuudo, for that matter. So that has to be taken into account.

Kishimoto has an amazing talent for perspective and anatomy[ish] which are two of the hardest traits of art to master, I think it's down to opinion you just think the art sucks.

138. I'm much the same way about my pairings. I love all kinds of fic, I'll read any pairing at all, and I love all the wonderful, creative, new perspectives fandoms come up with on the characters and the canon.

But with my own favourite ships, I'm mostly about finding the smut. PORN PLZ! I'm not sure why the sex is important to me with my favourite pairings, except that (besides being hot), the intimacy of sex is rarely paralleled, and I always want to see my fave pairings be so vulnerable for each other.

I started shipping the Doctor/Donna Noble from Doctor Who (see icon) after her first appearance in a Christmas special, and everyone HATED her then. Not only was there NO smut, but all her appearances in fic were to get dumped on. Oh, it drove me insane. I needed smut for those two so bad it hurt. Thank god for series four!

139. My mother got into Who fandom many months before I did, and was SO obnoxiously obsessed with it that I could have strangled her. She watched the DVDs over and over and over and over and over, and it got to the point where I was going to break the goddamned DVD player if I had to hear that STUPID Doctor Who theme song ONE. MORE. FUCKING. TIME.

Then some friends wheedled me into watching it. I love it so much now that the theme song is the MOST played song on my iTunes.

Don't let other [annoying] fans shape your opinions. Make your decision based on the source material. Otherwise, who knows what you could miss?

162. And some people find shows with decent character development fun to write for because they give you more material to work with. The more detail you get on a character, the better able you are to see different directions you could take the characters in, IMO. People are so complex that more information usually just leaves more questions unanswered.

I see nothing wrong with writing for plot-driven shows, but I suspect that what you like is the ability to invent the characters, rather than interpret them.

101. ;_; I liked that scene too. I'm pretty sure the two thought it was a bit silly but the meaning behind it was touching. Jesus, secrets on FF10 make me realize how much I did like this game despite its crappy final boss fight.

104. It's ALRIGHT for a woman to use lube. Some women can't lubricate enough themselves and that makes sex a less than pleasant experience or some that do it for kicks. If lube makes sexy times a lot more pleasuable for you, work it. Honestly, it never came across to me that slash fics make it look like lube a gay only thing (I would blame het fics smut and doujins never seem to use it, even for anal sex). It's not surprising that it shows up because it gay men do use it for anal sex because well... the ass don't lubricate and it would be a world of hurt for the penetratee (shut up, I know I'm making words up), especially the inside is prone for injury. At least it's better to see lube than spit in slash. Dear god, I hate when someone uses spit as lube in a slash fic as a really good lube.

There was a movie, actually! There were plans for a sequel which were to basically resolve the whole WHERE ARE ARNOLD'S PARENTS thing that would take the entire cast to the jungle, but there was a falling out at the studios or something. It SUCKS because there was a script and concept art and everything :(

Yeeeeees! That movie was fantastic and it got me into listening to Billy Joel at age 7. Thanks Oliver and Company! ((It also helped me when we read Oliver Twist in middle school. They changed a lot of stuff, but at least I got the general idea of the characters and whatnot.))
