I've read me a lot of crappy Ouran fic, and I don't get the impression that Kyouya is hated at all. I stick to het with that series and in fics where he's paired with Haruhi he winds up being a prince. In fics where Haruhi is paired with someone else, he often conspires to get the happy couple together.

I just don't get the sense that fans dislike him -- I think fans often are way too nice about him and actually make him look like an outwardly sensitive nice guy, which is totally bogus.

...or something.

Not in the earlier days of the manga, fuck no. But from about the Valley of the End arc on, yeah. I mean, if you hate it, go for it - art is about personal opinion, in the end.
