103. Oh god Carnivale FTW! <33

112. That's better than my life ambitions. I just want to be really, really mediocre at something. Being a sidekick sounds much more fun! :D

123. Oli&Co. kicks ass. Don't let anyone tell you different.

131. I liked the series, but now I can barely read it because the story's gone so steeply downhill, IMO. And honestly? The art has fucking sucked ever since somewhere around Kakashi Gaiden. And Part II looks like a god damned coloring book. The Wave Arc was beautiful, though.

146. I still haven't seen that whole movie. ;__;

150. And if it does? Fuck it, we can be furries together!

152. Everyone needs to realize that Downy is a sarcastic asshole. That's kinda his thing. He even refers to his son as 'that little prick.'

171. I had no knowledge of this. I shall start writing!

171 OP

WORD.

Really, an incredibly lot of WORD.

123. WHY SHOULD I WORRRRRRRRRY~? WHY SHOULD I CAAAAA~AAAA~AAAAAAAA~AAAAAAARE~~~

103--Carnivale secret--yes!

104--They wouldn't make it if lots of people didn't need it! The fics just indicate what people find it hot to write about sex, not how they're necessarily doing it.

106-ITA

128-Many of them will probably still be annoying when they're 40.:-/

138-I can totally relate to this secret. Sometimes even a relationship you'd defend as wonderfully platonic in canon you want to read smut about in fanfic.

140-LOL!

143-I found that moment sad in totally the wrong way, myself. :-(
(Also I had been hoping Harry was going to go upstairs and find her corpse or something--not because I wanted Luna to die, her father's creepiness just made me think it would happen.)

153-I've never gotten the appeal of her either. My mom totally loves her.

169-I respect that.

180--Yes.

188-But there are plenty of movies people have loved that are about lovers kept apart by something. In this case it's the gay that makes it a problem. You can't really take it out of the story--it's these people in this life at this time in history. And it would probably be really OOC for them to use protection, especially in the beginning.

131

[identity profile] spiderhood.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Dear 'decent' illustrator.

Jealousy is not a good thing. Get over it. There are always people who draw better then you, or even those who are on the same level in drawing techniques but unreachable for you in char design, plot developing, etc. If you keep blabbering about how 'decent' you are and how bad they are, you'll never get anywhere in this life. Being a smirking snob about someone else's work does not count as 'working hard to improve yourself'. Since you are posting to fs, it's probably not too late to stop and not end up turning into one of those losers jealous of everyone else's success. Please don't turn into one, there're enough of those people around us.

Kishimoto Masashi is not the worst guy out there. You can also make fun of Akira Toriyama, Eiichiro Oda, Mashima Hiro, Inada Kouji, etc. Fat chance you'll keep working your ass off and improving all your life and never become half as good and famous as any of them. Don't start judging those who are better than you, try to understand what makes people like their stuff. Learn, for crying out loud.

Re: 131

[identity profile] mahkia.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Akira Toriyama is an acquired taste, though I like him for Chrono Trigger, not DBZ. Then again, I suppose all of the artists you mentioned are acquired tastes, for some people. To each his own; that's my philosophy.

...I guess I have nothing constructive to add. I just wanted to voice my respect for Akira Toriyama, and NOT for/because of DBZ, for once. ;P

This. Totally this. I'm with you. &hearts Also, Billy Joel is complete love.

121. My first lemon fic was for Kirby. :B

123. ME. :D I downloaded Why Should I Worry. <3

178 and 179. These two secrets after one another MADE ME LOL.

[identity profile] kitty-alexander.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
123 - Don't make this a secret. Proclaim it proudly! I loved this film as a kid. Billy Joel and Bette Milder! I still hum the music! "Why Should I Worry? Why Should I Care?"

(Off to find soundtrack)

132 - It took me a second to figure out who that was. Bill Hicks right? Agreed!

135 - Agreed.

139 - Seriously? Whatever.

143 - I misted up at that part too. Such a beautiful scene.

148 - Spoilers: Fandom's design for premature ejaculation.

154 - That's because it is absurd.

175 - I keep hearing about it on the fringes. I've never have ever watched the episodes and it looks really cool. The problem of being an Brit-TV lover in America.

185 - I need to watch that someday, hopefully soon.

191 - DEAR GOD! I haven't watched Lost in ages but that storyline was one of my favorite parts of the show.

[livejournal.com profile] dramatic_eps has all three seasons available for download. They're also up on YouTube but under a misspelled name (something like, "The Maitee Bewsh"). And they're totally worth the effort it takes to find them. :)

101. I agree. The scene was awkward, but that's what made it cute.

115. I miss that game the same way I miss "Lemmings" for MS DOS. Which is a hell of a lot. Yes.

143. Luna's room was the only scene in any of the books that actually brought me to full-on tears. The ending didn't do her justice.

171. DO WANT.

[identity profile] shun-mcdaddy.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
123. It has Bette Midler, Billy Joel and Huey Lewis! How can you not? Plus, this was the first Disney film in theaters that I saw in my life.(The original run, not the re-release in the late '90s.)

128. Same here.

[identity profile] sunshine-hippie.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
106. - I don't wear glasses, but that secret made me feel really appreciate what Tia Hellenbaut did.
Good for you :D

115. - ROLLER COASTER TYCON FTW!!!

123. - I love it, too.

143. - I feel guilty that I had forgotten the part. It was such a beautiful moment and now I feel terrible about forgetting it.
I won't forget it now.

153. - I find her a bit over-rated. Yes, she's classy, but Katharine wears the pants

158, kyoya

(Anonymous) 2008-09-05 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
I love Kyoya as well. Actually, he's one of my all- time favorite characters.

185

[identity profile] shadowesque13.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
I LOVE YOU. SERIOUSLY. I wrote a fic with Nine and Nine. I've played Shalka!Nine before in RP. I seriously, desperately want Scream of the Shalka on DVD so I can watch it without the god damn loading times. AND I want more novels.

(I don't think he could replace canon!Nine for me--but I'm also not sure I could say one is better than the other at this rate.) Let's go REG!Doctor for Eleven. :DDD Y/Y/FUCKING Y?

...I so desperately always wanted to know the story behind the girl in the answering machine.

Re: 185

[identity profile] ushas42.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Girl?

We are totally watching different versions of that webcast if in your version the other person on the answering machine isn't the Master.

Just sayin'

116: And I hate all the secrets that suggest I enjoyed The Dark Knight so much because Heath Ledger is fucking dead.

130: I like the movie! But then, I don't like the books, (I think it all worked well on radio and TV, just not so well on paper) so they'd probably
crucify me too.

137: I had a hard time with that the first time I saw the movie. I didn't know what his character was called for about the first 45 minutes because
I missed the name when he'd introduced himself! Can't side with you on the disappointed with the movie thing though, sorry.

138: Heh, I think that's natural.

152: Wow, he really said that? He's an idiot, what a shame.

180: WORD, MY FRIEND!

188: a) The movie wouldn't exist if it were about a straight couple. The entire point of the movie is that they can't be together because they're
not straight. So saying it was only popular because it features homosexuality is meaningless.

b) Regarding the safe sex, give them a break, they were having spontaneous sex on a fucking mountain. :D

192

[identity profile] pukingtoreador.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I feel that way too.

143, 179

[identity profile] vongroovy.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
143. That's pretty much the only part of the whole series that made me bawl. Luuuunaaaa.

179. CHEERS. I ♥ him so ridiculously much.

188.

[identity profile] drworm.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
188. I've never seen Brokeback Mountain. I hope I never have to.

But I still want to smack you and 75% of the people who replied. And their "gay friends." Oh god, just shut up, no one cares, just let some people have their big gay cowboy movie, jesus christ.

[identity profile] vulgarweed.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
104: It's not uncommon at all - I've done it a lot myself. It helps, no doubt!
(A only slightly related pet peeve - I wish smut writers would stop pretending that anal sex is something only gay men do.)

188: er...why would they use protection? AIDS didn't appear until about 20 years after the film is set...and it's not the kind of fictional world where mpreg would be a big concern (though I'm sure somebody's written it somewhere).

RE: 188

(Anonymous) 2008-09-05 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, it was. The official appearance was in 1981 though.

104

(Anonymous) 2008-09-05 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Don't feel bad about it - some females are naturally drier then others just as some are naturally wetter.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
131-...Kishimoto's art is generally technically good, sans his coloring skills. He has good grasp of proportions, and his backgrounds are ridiculously good. Consider he does 17 pages a week, yeah.

So uhm...you fail at the biggest portion of being an artist. Being able to look at other work well. Not kidding when you say you're an amateur.

188-Although I kinda see what your saying, and that's part of why I haven't seen it (that being that it seems boring) that movie was ABOUT being gay. You couldn't HAVE that movie with it being heterosexual. Any movie about a controversial subject is pretty much, yeah, gonna be popular for that subject. it's sorta the point.

#170

[identity profile] haloisbent.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
170 - That secret could've said that Justin killed puppies and wore their skins to get off and I still would've been as giddy to see it. There isn't near enough Motion City Soundtack love out there. Personally, though, I lean more towards Tony. He's such a dork, I love it.

(Anonymous) 2008-09-05 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
161- Oh, sweetie. I seriously doubt either one of them are desperately hoping to get a book with the photographs of them standing with 300 fans. Don't fret on his account, really.

150- Is it worse if that's the ONLY role I find him attractive in? :P

182- Never sexier than in that trilogy of episodes in Homicide where his partner and Howard and Felton got shot. I love a pot-smoking hippie who isn't afraid to put a cap in the ass of the guy who shot his friends. And then lie about it with absolutely no remorse whatsoever. MUNCH.

111- Nothing wrong with liking her. She's extremely pretty, if also fairly screwed up. :P And she's sexy as hell in that picture, yum!

[identity profile] aricakes.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
170! I would too. I don't think your secret is lame. <3
