176. I completely get where you're coming from, and I'm not homophobic. Mostly my disdain for non-canon gay couples (like House x Wilson), is because I'm upset that these fans can't appreciate that maybe their relationship is much more interesting and deep when it's platonic. If their mind can only jump to the conclusion that these good, straight friends need to jump in bed together, they're doin' it wrong. =P Romantic relationships change peoples' chemistry, and I like House and Wilson as friends.

101 - Well, at first I wanted to say "hey, I'm catholic and I don't have a problem with it, being a fan of slash myself" but then I remembered that not all catholics are like that. Maybe you just want to start of with saying "did they give off gay vibes or what?" or "man, that was gay" to something with a hell of a lot of subtext and checking for her reaction.

Yeah, I definitely consider myself Catholic as well, as much as I disagree with a hell of a lot about the religion, but the community we come from is chock-full of seriously bible-thumping, fundamentalist families with like fifteen kids. It truly was a terrible place to grow up, and I can confidently say I am one of the most liberal, open-minded kids in my generation. My friend is amazing, but we disagree on a lot of issues. We respect each other and never let it come between us, but it really bothers me that I can't talk to her about what is truthfully a big part of my life.

I loved Shirley. She was my favourite of the entire female Geass cast. I was relieved to see a female character on that show who wasn't basically a man trapped inside of a woman's body.

Honestly, I think that people hate her because Lelouch dared to like her, and she was the only one outside of Kallen and CC that he canonly showed any kind of romantic feelings for.

You are a fucking idiot, especially if you think J/I is ok, JUST BECAUSE IT'S CANON, in spite of the complete lack of chemistry between the actors or the logic of the characters being together. Yeah, Jack fucks everything, but any implication that there's an iota more to it than that, and yeah, you're talking insanity.

Meanwhile, House/Wilson are one of the most perfect pairings ever, almost purely because it's all subtext and chemistry and acting. The closer the crack monkeys get to canon, the worse things get. The more they keep it at banter and talking about tranny hookers and every other wonderful thing they did before season 4, the better the relationship gets and the more opportunities for shipping. (ALTHOUGH ALL H/W FLUFF IS A LIE!)

I think what they're trying to say is that they don't like people screwing around with a character's sexuality. Jack and Ianto are gay in canon, while House and Wilson aren't. What House and Wilson have/had on the actual show is a good friendship, and the OP probably doesn't appreciate that being changed into a romance that isn't there... of course, *that* could be said for het pairings too, like Harry/Hermione.
