That is probably true for some of them, much like some of the new Joker fans are Ledger fans. HOWEVER. I would just like to state that most of us Scarecrow fans love him in all his forms, because Scarecrow is awesome like buttermilk pancakes are buttery.

I love Eyeshield, so much. It's my one true series~ that I never expected to like in the first place. I really hate that it's ending, and I especially hate that I wasn't around when the series was really popular in fandom. And now that it's ending, I'm afraid the entire fandom is just going to flat out die, instead of floundering like it's been doing for the past year+.

I can't say that I have a close bond with my family, but I do have a best friend who I would probably die for / kill for. And no, we aren't sleeping together or dating - though a lot of people think that, even though we're both girls.

However, fandom =/= IRL. I like to take interesting platonic relationships and experiment with adding romance. It's something I find fun, especially if the characters already have a close bond such as friendship (or, hey, blood ties :D).

I can't (and won't) speak for every person in every fandom evar but just because I enjoy writing fic about siblings / bffs being romantically involved doesn't mean I can't enjoy the platonic relationship too. Don't be hatin' on fandom just because we like to take everything and romanticize it. Some of us are batshit, sure, but some of us (like me) have experienced close friendships / sibling bonds IRL and still enjoy sexyfuntiems in our fandom.

That being said, I can see where you're coming from. As long as someone is shipping with reason*~ and not just because the two people are sohawt!1 together...

I know just how you feel. I've tried to ignore the spray incident as bad writing and poor planning but it's been impossible. I do appreciate what they did with the character and agree that Burn Gorman is a great actor, though.
