I wish adultfanfiction.net would have kept their old works. I wanted to read a fic I enjoyed ages ago on there but it's down to bones now.

It is cringey and random as a pairing, but Aladdin/Mozenrath is my favorite slash pairing of all my slash pairings.

Same. I actually got nice comments on fics, too. They'd often turn into conversations and new friends... I miss those days so much.

I would KILL for an anime with a plus size female heroine who isn't seen as ugly or has to change to be accepted. I understand why I'll probably never see this.

I like when writers in my fandoms sort characters into Hogwarts Houses. It's good to know what part of the character development is going to be sacrificed to aesthetic.

If all your female characters can fit neatly into the categories: innocent virgins, villainous whores, ugly but capable, and mary-sue best at everything and hotter than everyone... then you suck at writing women.

A large number of popular published authors write women like this.

I'm frustrated by the modern vidding trend of thoroughly interspersing a music track with sound and dialogue from the source text.

In the old days of vidding fandom, the audio for most vids was entirely the music track the vidder had chosen to work with. Occasionally a vidder would use a little snippet of audio from the source text, but not that often, and even then it was sparingly done. Part of the challenge - and even the art - of vidding, was finding a way to make the musical track and the source text work together synergistically, without using dialogue from the source.

Old vids used to feel like they were making some pretty astute and poignant observations about the source text. Whereas I feel like most modern vids - though technically proficient - tend to feel like a cross between a commercial and a recruitment vid. "Doesn't this show look cool? Here are some characters looking cool and talking cool, set to a cool song!" That can be fun, and those vids can be well made, but for me it gets bland really fast.

Secret because: "You darn kids get off my lawn!"

I can only ship zosan after the one piece time skip, ans it's kinda sad because the hype for the ship was during the first part

Man, I'm just really tired of romance having to be in EVERYTHING. I was really liking the book I'm reading until they introduced this Mary Sue-ish love interest for the main character and suddenly it got so. boring. They seemed to be hinting that he was gay (he was constantly musing about how he was never really into his estranged wife, and he'd never really been particulary interested in ANY woman before) and then bam, super stereotypical lame het romance. Turns out the "never been interested in any women before" was just the beginning of "...until I met this super ~special amazing wonderful~ woman".

I don't mind romances that are well done and interesting, but the huge majority of the ones I come across are just so...lazy and predictable and boring.

I just really wish there were more things that didn't feel the need to shove romance into the story. It really doesn't need to be in everything ever. Grrr.
