The entire point of the series is what makes a person a "real person," whether Chii could have feelings and that Hideki could grow up from a perverted boy who was mostly interested in sex into someone who could fall in love and choose that love, and stay with her, forever, despite sex not even being an option anymore. Hideki became a person to admire by the end of the series, and Chii turned out to be much more than just "an inanimate object," but someone who could feel and love despite being "just a computer."

I squeal and take your picture no matter how half-assed, poorly-tailored, or hastily made it is -- because you are representing yourself as a fan, because we can connect and yammer about a shared passion.

It's amusing for me to be a plus sized cosplayer and experience people wanting to take shots of my two skinny little friends that I cosplay with while discreetly getting me out of the picture or wanting just the two of them, particularly when we're cosplaying from a series.
Sometimes my friends apologize but who cares, y'know? I just like to think someday I'll be in costume and someone who REALLY loves that character will be so excited to see them that I'll make their day. :) Actually, that happened last ACen, made the whole convention for me!

130. Not all, in my opinion. There are many good genfics, though. Of shippy fics, the PG-13 rated ones are often the best because there the focus is not on just sex. There are some exceptions to that, too.

146. I can't imagine reading another Reborn fic because of that. All my respect for an author blows right out the window as soon as they list a pairing with numbers. It's even worse than "puppy shipping" and other pairing names like that.

153. I believe in size appropriate cosplay.

However I must say I can get a little ill seeing those more than 3 or 4 times my size, regardless of covering up or in a skimpy little sailor scout cosplay(for the love of god no). I mean sure at my size everyone's thinking 'sure you can say that, you're a skinny whore' but seriously. If they were just fat I could probably deal, but quite frequently (in my experience) the fat is in combination with aspects of poor body care which makes it harder to look at.
Though there is a level of fat for everyone that is healthy, most of the people I'm referring to are more on the hambeast-on-a-scooter end of things.

My other top reason behind this bias is that the influx of obesity has been leading to vanity sizing and dropping production of the smaller clothes in most stores -shopping only in the children's sections and second hand shops is a pain in the ass. As is the excessive air conditioning to cater to the many obese.


The talk of weight in pounds and kilos is pointless kids, muscle weighs more than fat.

Same here. This whole idea that you have to cosplay something 'appropriate' is ridiculous - you're a grown man or woman dressing up like a character from a cartoon! To the rest of the world, the act of cosplay alone is 'inappropriate' :P

Just don't break any laws with your cosplay, and I'll appreciate that you tried.
