letters 3. Same secret maker from a couple days ago? Once again, there are sick fucks in every fandom, and the kink meme is bound to bring them out. That doesn't mean that the rest of the fandom is into that kind of shit.
Also, I went and read that Rape of Nanking fic after the last secret, and I feel pretty confident in saying that no one was getting off to it. It was dark and heartbreaking and not the least bit erotic. Not at all the type of fic one would expect to find at a kink meme.

If I remember correctly, pop culture references were around plenty in the early part of the series. It didn't suck then, so I'm inclined to disagree. Even if pop references DID contribute to the decline, when we look at the DISASTER that is the ghost writers and god-what-else, it seems like a moot point in comparison. *shrug*

I never actually said they were bad, I lack exposure to them outside of the SOAP song, which I happen to like. I don't make any judgements on their quality, but based solely on the name of the band and the fact that the first time I heard of them was in connection to SOAP, I have a hard time fathoming that they're a real band that just happens to have a band name that fits the movie perfectly.

I kind of ship Bill/Zoey fer the lulz. I actually think Francis/Zoey and Bill/Zoey would be more popular, but Louis is really the nicest out of the lot. If you read the latest blog post on the L4D site (the one with the making of the intro film), they said that they were actually going to add a love interest between Zoey and Francis, but they took it out because it detracted from the desperation of the setting. But that's what fandom is for!
