134: I think the recent entries in the compilation, namely Crisis Core make him all the more sympathetic, even with the horrible retconing and inclusion of Gackt (wtf?). I think if they were to do a remake of the original game, I'd like to see more of his story in there.

...Does it make me more or less of a freak that I don't count compilation canon when I tally up how sympathetic Sephiroth is? B-because, my bleeding little heart broke for him when I first played the original game, and I haven't played CC yet.

Agreed on the WTF factor of Gackt. I'll get around to CC eventually, but I'm sort of dreading it because, you know...Gackt. Not a bad musician, all things considered, but it's a bit weird seeing him as a FFvillian. =/

Let me get this straight. You feel bad for watching a cartoon that is based on a franchise that has been around since 1984 that still has people in their 40's (maybe older? o.O;) enjoying it? Personally, I'm staying, being 20-years-old too and people finding that whacked out or not. ;3 Growing old may not be an option for me, but growing up is, and Transformers is worth sticking around for~ Especially for the Jazz omfg.

117 - I actually plan on studying Japanese, and yes, anime & manga are the main reasons why. But, does that mean that you don't respect me just because I'm going to leave my current job and go back to school to do so? I kind of take offense to that. I can understand not liking the people who are like, "OMG Japan is so cool and is the best country in the world and everything that comes from Japan is awesome!" Because those people kind of piss me off as well. But, I honestly don't know what I want to do with my life, and I've always had a knack for languages so... going back to school and learning Japanese just makes sense to me.

117. I grew up in Japan. It's gorgeous (depending on where you go) and the culture is very interesting, but that's the same for all other countries. I've lived all over the world and I've realized it's easier to obsess over other countries simply because you haven't been there or you're not there for a long time. I obsessed over England before and after I went, but while I was there it was like "hm, this is nice...oh Australia!" Hell, I even did so with the States when I lived in Iceland. I wanted so badly to come here, but now that I've been here, I'm ready to head off to Brazil or the Philippines. People just tend to make other countries they've never been to seem like the best country in the world, a fantasy land that would solve all their problems.

I haven't even played CC yet, this is an irrational level of fan-sympathy that has been going strong since I first played the original game. I think it's because of all the things AVALANCHE (and thus, the player) were able to find out about his background that he just...never knew, probably would never know.

I always have to save the end of the game to play when it's just me and my cat. I hate the idea that my friends or roommate might barge in on me BAAAWWing all over the place over a videogame character. :|
