That sucks. But that reaction you're having is basically why modern social media is the way it is and why people are so addicted to it.

It's also why sites like DW and other more old school places with less like buttons etc faded in popularity in comparison, imho. You don't get the big old 200 replies to posts, generally, as an individual on a place like this because people have to sit down and type something at length rather than just boop a heart or a thumbs up to get their point and the fact they were here across. See also: use of the kudos button on ao3 compared to comments. Which is fine! But people definitely prefer interacting via buttons rather than typing something out.

Except me I'm addicted to rambling. Clearly. I blame ole Brad and Frank.

Anyway, it suffices to say that your brain being unhappy after experiencing a likes/interaction high is pretty common in the present day and age.

I interpret their relationship as their one outlet for self expression and love in a terrible situation. And, like, coerced by whom? Do you think Department X or the Red Room were trying to hook them up? Otherwise I don't really see what their trauma has to do with anything other than that it's something over which they can relate.

But they're also my only canon OTP as a multipshipper so I am biased.

(What's your OT4? I'd guess Sam/Steve/Bucky/Someone else, but WHO!?!? I kind of ship everyone with everyone with comics, because it'll all happen some day.)

But why would you even want to?

I genuinely flinch a little bit at the idea of saying it, even though I think it would be appropriate in cases like quoting historical material. It's such an ugly history and I don't want it in my mouth.

Maybe you're more rational about it than I am, but...honestly, if you're white, no one is actually stopping you. You're """"allowed""" - but if it would bother/hurt black people you know, then you should listen to whatever sense of decency is telling you aren't allowed. And you shouldn't say it when there's only other white people around because that's going to empower the actual racists and make them feel supported. If you're singing along to the radio alone in your car or something...I guess it really doesn't matter, sing it if you want.

Just do what I do: follow people on tumblr/twitter for your specific characters/ships and aggressively ignore everything else. I've been having fun chatting people in my small part of the fandom and I am completely none the wiser about any stupid drama.

I found out this was how it was meant to go after I watched the show and let me tell you: I FELT ROBBED.

You mean I was supposed to get an undead-rage-filled NMJ lopping JGY's head off(or something) and I was denied???? THE INSULT. Also yeah, WN being randomly possessed was just... weird and out of nowhere, it being NMJ makes way more sense and idk why they changed that?
