145. Funny how that works. Sometimes the rabid Gelphie shippers make me feel exactly the same way about Fiyero/Elphaba.

I did read the book - and I like femmeslash, so I was actively looking for subtext. I could maybe see that Glinda was in love with Elphaba, though it's hardly clear. Elphaba, on the other hand, doesn't seem to think about Glinda once after she leaves Shiz. You know, while she's having the love affair with Fiyero and having that mental breakdown after his death. Canonically.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be wanky. I just get tired of the attitude in Wicked fandom which seems to be so fiercely against the actual canon pairings.

101. I don't have anyone to talk to about it either. Trekkie fandom scares me. I tried a couple of forums only to be discouraged within days by the sheer volume of venom and over-the-top obsessiveness there. It really is something I don't like to admit to enjoying as much as I do just because I don't want to be associated with the well-iknown wack-jobs.

102. Nah, pretty sure just about everyone does that.

112. Seriously?? DAMN she looks older than 14. How old is she supposed to be in the movie? ........also that brings up really interesting questions in my mind about what the off-screen relationship was like between the actors. I'd be interested to know that.

115. If you just want to practice, make an RP journal and join

dear_multiverse. Pretty sure those both still have open membership and you don't have to put any of your player info in your profile, you can just join and play to practice. If you really are interested in feedback, you can put your contact info in your profile (even fake contact info -- make an AIM screen name and link it to the one you usually sign in to, or a Gmail account you use just for RP) and ask people to tell you how you're doing. Just make sure you get a lot of feedback before deciding you suck. Some people will tell you that you do just because. You can also make a Gaia account and post to their RP boards to find partners to test out your RP skills with. I've never tried that myself, but I'm told you do have to be a little patient there, as finding people to play with takes a while and a lot of them suck.

I prefer to steer clear from fandom forums. I don't like the idea of being associated with fangirls (or fanboys...and by which I mean the crazy-obsessive fans). Which I guess is part of the problem for me. I know if I wanted to talk Star Trek, I could easily find a forum, but that's just not the atmosphere I'm looking for.

115. Oh, come on, seriously? Just try things out. If you "really, really suck" indeed you'll get better really, really fast, it's not that hard. If you want to feel better about yourself, get into things and find that you are the best RPGer ever, go here (www.hexrpg.com). There are a few decent RPGers, but most of them are beginners. Or write like beginners. It's a fun, anything-goes board and good for getting into things and then moving on to more serious stuff and only sticking around for the chat boards. :)
