I can only speak for myself, but no, that's not why I want Latin American characters. I want them because they're just as wacky and interesting as most of the main Hetalia characters and hell, quite a few of them were involved in WWII as part of the Allies, so they're more than relevant to a story originally based in that time period.

(Okay, yes, I would ship boy!Honduras and girl!Belize too, but that's because they're tiny countries that get along relatively well for being colonies of different countries--Spain for Honduras and UK for Belize--and they're relatively stable compared to other Central American countries.)

113 - Not to mention the fact that it's a gag manga and not a realistic commentary on current international issues. Too many people find it offensive as it is, imagine what it would be like with Middle Eastern or African countries.

155. While I agree, I can see what they're coming from. When you see so many actress a size 4 or under, it gets tiring. So when you see a character who is above a 6 or plus-size, a lot of girls celebrate, even more so when she's not shut into the "girl friend" part. I wish that skinny girls didn't get burnt of the fury though. This applies with the "real men" bullshit as well. They are real because they exist (or the actors in most cases), people.

Me too. They're one of my favourite canon couples ever. My personal canon is that once everyone in the Link experiences Odo's love for Kira, they have no problem with him going back to her. (Unrealistic but if DS9 can ignore Garak and Bashir's true love, then I at least get to have this.)

Awww. I like your theory. :)) I read a fic once that had Odo reproducing in the link somehow, and his offspring/daughter later meets Kira--and her default humanoid appearance is exactly like Kira because that's who Odo thought about most. It was awfully sweet.

I remain convinced that he does eventually come back. After all, if Spock can reconcile his human and Vulcan sides eventually, can't Odo finally have both his people and Kira?

102: To some extent, it's impossible not to. You can't write what you don't know, after all. As long as you're aware of it and keep it from making the characters OOC, you probably don't need to worry about it.

106: I ship Zuul and Vinz Clorto, and my initial thought on seeing the baby was that it was the result of them "opening the gate with the key," wink wink nudge nudge (man, I hate that they had to obfuscate the sex magic in the final cut - it's a lot clearer in some of the deleted scenes), but the timing doesn't work out right for that. I'm also oddly fond of Louis, but partly that's just because I find the actor cute.
