My absolute favorite thing about this secret is the complete look of 'wtf D:' on the boys' faces.

I've been trying to stay out of Hetalia wank, but the responses to this are driving me crazy.

Hetalia is not a history of WW2. It's a a gag manga that uses trivia--specifically WW2-ish centric--for jokes. It's not about "who is the most important" or "where the fighting is", it's "who has the most hilarious trivia about them" or "who would make a funny character in this gag manga".

Yes, Africa/Australia/Pacific Islands was important to the war. Yes, it was a world war, and all that implies. That doesn't matter if you're drawing a webcomic and you can't think of a joke for those countries. Sealand is easy to make jokes about. Therefore he's there. Canada jokes write themselves. Therefore he's there.

Hetalia is not "world history class". The author doesn't have an obligation to re-tell the war itself.

(And besides, a ton of colonies showed up--admittedly, very briefly--in Hetalia Gakuen)

166. Yeah, fucking cartoon characters make excellent thinspo, seeing as they're two-dimensional and all. Even if the concept wasn't totally stupid in the first place, wouldn't the spindly/elongated limbs just be part of the overall art style, and not be expressing anything specific about the weight of the character?

Heck yes, Word World! I can't even put my finger on why I love it exactly. I think it has something to do with the letters being EVERYWHERE and just the potential in that. Which will never get explored, but it's all right. XD

That and my brother is convinced Dog is the god of that world. Like, he was put together out of natural selection and after he reached sentience, he decided to put together the rest of the characters. It's kind of a lovely personal canon, lol.

Although if "coolness" is judged by fashion sense, then Jack and Kaiba aren't very cool in my book... it took me so long just to get used to Kaiba's Battle City coat let alone that... thing... 112 - Waitasec, what if you have icons of an animated person who may possibly be a POC, but because they're a) alien and b) animated, you're not sure? And what if the animated folks (e.g. a character from, say, Sailor Moon) LOOKS white, but is 100% Japanese and anyone who is in fandom would know that? Does that mean I have skeevy race issues?

115 - Is there such thing as an anime/manga series where characters DO age and it's addressed? It seems so uncommon. Not "never happens," but out of the wide scale of titles I've seen/read, it's VERY rare. Um... Full Moon o Sagashite (Mitsuki ages FO REALZ at the end), Sailor Moon (Usagi has aged 2 years during the course of the 5 year series, and actually says her age in the last episode; birthdays happen every once in a while)... maybe a few others...?

120 - Why be scared? If you like it, like it-- just be able to back up WHY. One reason why people tend to be so vocal about how sucky it is is because they've read it too and KNOW why they think it's bad. Can you explain why you think it's good? If not, then you SHOULD be scared, because your "like" is baseless. If you CAN explain why you like it, then DON'T be scared-- be open with it and explain to others. Maybe you'll change a few minds.

Just had to chime in and add one to your list of anime/manga that do age the characters: Lucky Star.

Okay okay, they don't really look any older, but it's just a couple years and their high school kids, so I guess that's excusable. XD But it does deal with the fact that they are going to graduate and have to figure out what they're going to do in the future and whatnot. Yay for having a concrete sense of time!
