124: Are you kidding? I'm a yuri fan and find this show MOST AMAZING. Granted when I first heard the plot I was kinda unimpressed--but then someone told me to actually watch it and YES IT'S AMAZING AND FUNNY. imo. I LOVE IT. :D Mariya is a bastard to the nth degree but it is fun to watch someone that terrible, isn't it :D? You don't have to think a character is redeemable or someone you would want to be friends with irl in order to think they're an entertaining character.

I don't hate Shinji, but I understand why people label him as a wuss or spineless. It's sort of a recurring theme for him. He pilots the Eva, not because he wants to, but because he wants people to approve of him. Everything he does in the series, is because he wants his father's (or others') approval. In the end, he does manage to realize he doesn't have to do that, but... he's sorta of spineless throughout most of the series.

Her guardian, Reiji, is trying to raise her to be just like her late mother (who he was in love with), and he plans on marrying her when she's 16. It's been revealed that he's been leaving hickeys on her neck while she's sleeping. But he hasn't gone any further than that... yet.

117; There are always people who aggressively assert one version's better than the other. Personally, I like the book better, but that's simply because I read it years before I saw the movie. If I'd seen the movie first, I may have like that better. And really, I love both to pieces. I like to look at them as two seperate but mildly related wonderful stories.
