in that particular episode, I think she used male pronouns because the new-half was pre-operation, although if you've seen episode 18 tat included a mid-op new-half and was referred to with female pronouns. I think the subber was just being technical, since japanese rarely uses pronouns in the first place. I wouldn't take any offense. :)

Ignoring people's identities and presentation and gendering them purely on the state of their genitals is still very offensive. There's nothing "technical" about it, it's just plain denying them their identification based on the (completely irrelevant) state of their genitalia! The secret poster is totally right to find this irritating.

If you ask me, Dick is better suited (ha!) to be Nightwing than Batman. Different motives, different methods, so why should he be shoehorned into the role just because he's been around for such a long time?

104 - Having just had a secret recently where all the responses were "Oh god don't bring back the bad fandom that was GW", I've got to say: Duo is nothing like Nathaniel, other than the physical appearance. Nathaniel is butcheredbyfandom!Duo, aka completely OOC, aka DO NOT WANT.

164. I get why he's hated on one side, but on another, I don't. He's 14 years old, told to pilot a mech, put into countless life threatening situations, his father's basically afraid of him, and things just keeep going wrong for him, to the point where it's ridiculous. You'd probably want to quit too or be as angsty as him if you were put into the situation. Rei and Asuka were in a similar one, but Rei's not exactly a standard 14 year old and Asuka had a shit ton of issues of her own. I'm not sure if it's because they want their heroes to be typically heroic, but anyway.
