I watched the video when it first came out a few months ago, and couldn't shake the feeling of it making me think of MGS... I was torn between MGS4 Solid, and The Boss. o_o
... I think your association as well as mine has something to do with C. Martin's dance move where he covers one of his eyes (for Solid it's the same, for the Big Boss it's the opposite).

111. It's... really amazing how many people missed the little "I write het" note, OP. Maybe it's the yellow? But that's completely skeevy. I wouldn't want anything to do with a com that collects based on "no slash!" rather than "yay het!"

Fandom is a yay place, guys. :( We're supposed to be here based on shared likes, not dislikes.

Seriously, what's with the hostility to this secret? (Dare I think it's from the people who the secret is aimed at?) It's not like you're talking about bad reviews, concrit or any of the other things that come with place creative works in a public area. To me, the secret seemed aimed at all those "I judge you if" secrets. (If you like Twilight? JUDGED. If you like Mary Sues? JUDGED. If you don't know how to stick to a POV? DOUBLE JUDGED AND I AM A PROBABLY HYPOCRITE FOR SAYING THIS IN A SARCASTIC TONE. [that's my pet-peeve >.> But I don't judge people on it...])

It's one thing to go *twitchbackbuttonbackbuttonBACKBUTTON*, or to offer concrit, but it's another to think less of someone for liking something different or not being quite as talented/practiced.

124. I think this is really a pairing-fic phenomenon, rather than a slash-fic phenomenon. Gen fic just doesn't draw as large of a crowd. I'm not sure why.

129. (facepalm) Why do people let fandom annoyances (whatever that annoyance might be) affect their personal lives? Really? Feminism is a wonderful cause. That you let fandom turn you off it is... Kind of sad. Would you say the same about the racism-fail discussion turning you off equal minority rights? Slash fic turned you away from gay rights?

I wish more people thought like this too. She could be awesome if people took the time to think about her.

I think you should read the manga. She's got more personality there and instead of raping and killing Riku in one go, they actually talk for a while so we get to know her a little better. She's still nothing normal, but she's not as flat as in the anime.

I've seen the manga while I was in Germany, but was skeptical about it, since from what I've seen on Youtube it's different from the anime and I wasn't sure how true it would stay to the Blood+ canon.

It is different from the anime but not so much that it redacts or contradicts anything. To me, it's simply more detailed. If you're an absolute purist about the anime canon then the manga may irk you at some points but I think it adds richness to the canon as a whole rather than presenting an alternate version of it.
