119 - I agree with you, I mean I get it with Coupling, that was an epic fail because so much had to be cut and edited. But Life On Mars (like the Office) just needs a touch up (period slang, football to "real" football, and which minority groups are present...) and now a great show is available and attractive to a new audience, entertaining people and making money. I haven't watched it yet, but it's still around, so it must be better then Coupling.

Ah whatever, you don't like her stuff. She didn't make a big comeback, she just felt like posting again. No fanfare, no gimmickry. She's a pretty chill lady and yeah okay, call me one of her asskissers. I don't care.

I'm glad to have her drawing what she draws. I like her style, and I like her as a person. And anyone who feels differently is allowed their opinion, because hey, they're different people. However, getting butthurt over someone's fan art is pretty damn wanky, especially considering it's a bunch of idiot fictional musicians. There's no point to the wank, and there's no point in attacking another person, just because you don't happen to like their art.

I agree with all of this, even down to the Mary Sues and self-inserts. Bashing bad!fics seems to just be the norm these days. It's good to see some still have a conscience.

Not the OP, but I've always found that the problem with identifying as feminist is the fact that the definition seems to vary quite a bit depending which feminist you ask (and the Webster's dictionary definition is pretty vague too). Hence, despite being grateful to the feminist movement for many things, I personally prefer to state my personal position on individual issues (e.g. 'anti domestic violence', 'anti sexual harrassment', 'anti discimination against trans people', 'pro reproductive choice', 'pro equal pay for equal work'... etc.) rather than identify wholesale as feminist. I'm somebody who likes to be precise when telling others who I am and don't want the baggage of a label that includes standpoints I don't share.

As far as fandom goes I think my opinion does diverge an awful lot from what you might call 'academic fandom feminists'. I disagree with a lot literary/media analysis I've read by them (I think that we've got both philosophical and methodological differences). I'm also the sort of person who just doesn't care if people want to, say, read/write fic exclusively about men, so long as they leave those who want to read and write about women alone to enjoy their fandom experience in peace. So it would just seem inaccurate to ally my beliefs with theirs.

It's the one where Cartman is selling candy to the kids at fat camp, and this one kid, Chad, comes up and he's crying, and when Cartman asks him what's wrong, he starts going on about how he's tired of being fat and he was really going to try to lose the weight this time but he just can't resist when the food is right there in front of him, and Cartman acts like he's going to be all supportive and then starts selling him a candy bar by telling this kid what a good, non-judgmental friend candy is, and yeah, for some reason it really gets to me.
