The entire POINT of the Arthurian mythos is that it has evolved over time. Every retelling of the legend is a story of the time in which it was written. I can appreciate not liking the show for lots of reasons, but it in no way invalidates the traditional mythos which, by nature, is designed to change and evolve over time. Hell, what we regard as the original legend is definitely NOT the first and is in fact, vastly different FROM that first.

That's something I never got. I'm only vaguely familiar with the legends, but even I know that it's plural, and that it's changed over time. That's the nature of any legend, so disliking a show solely because it doesn't stick strictly to one of them is a bit silly to me.

155. Wow. I admit I have never been big on Sasuke, but that may just be a little too cruel even for me. I mean, Sasuke IS pretty darn integral to the plot and their feelings and all that, and while I can accept a world where Sasuke is allowed to bum around with his new team and they can be ninja-hobos who live in a commune somewhere instead of in Leaf Village, at least Sasuke is more interesting than freaking SAI.

Well, if you disregard all the alone-time he's recently had in Shippuuden of course... got a point there. In any case, I support Naruto AND Kiba with Hinata, if only because it helps make Shino even more of an awkward third wheel than he already is, and Shino amuses me when he's sulking alone and forgotten in the corner.

I really don't understand why slash is considered to be anti-feministic or...even really /related/ to feminism.

Generally to me its "these guys could be cute together, I like their dynamics etc dork dork barely concealed squeeing behind a facade of seeming somewhat articulate"

Even if there's a female love interest my mind just says "well eh, maybe it just wouldn't work out. People break up, or maybe it could be an AU or something".

Like I really have to ask. Then when I dare to ask what they like so much about the movie of course they just babble about how Cloud is and how much they love him. They do not love him. They don't even know him! Gar, I probably shouldn't get so defensive over a character but I can't help it. XD

I do have some respect for people who watched the movie or played a 'sequal' if they had no idea about FFVII, said wtf this is pretty cool, hunted and I mean hunted, and found the game to play it and then actually played it. But otherwise....

#130; I enjoyed both Advent Children and Crisis Core. I liked the latter far more than anything, since it was the first time Cloud wasn't depicted as an utter jackass. No, I will never play FFVII because, let's face it, the graphics are utter shit. (I was about 7 when it came out, so yes, yes I know it's old, there have been massive improvements in CGI, etc., etc., etc.) I don't care if that makes me a horrible person, it's the truth. I can still enjoy a story, without having played the original.

#135; Sometimes, people just don't have the desire, nor the time to continue watching a show. Why should you feel the need to judge people based on that? Some people have other things they need to do. Fandom is not the be-all, end-all.

#140; OP, you're not the only one. Castiel made me, for the first time in my life, ridiculously proud to be a Roman Catholic. To be honest, there's pretty much no other explanation on why Melanie was so hung up on Scarlett, even before they escaped Atlanta. Scarlett fucked up so badly, so often, but Melanie turned the blindest eye to it, all her life. It seemed to me that she had no illusions about anyone (even her husband) except Scarlett. She could do no wrong in Melanie's eyes.

I think the novel cannot be read from any other point of view but that Melanie loved Scarlett fiercely, although most people would see it as platonic. Romantic would actually make more sense though.
