I don't recognize it (too blurry for me to make it out). Otherwise, are you me? I have a crush on a few historical people (one in a time period which has a flourishing fandom, the other which unfortunately does not) who happen to hit every single one of my types: petit, extremely idealistic, extremely strong willed, and extremely socially conscious. I also have a huge crush on a few characters for those same reasons, one is not petit, but I still have a huge crush on him. there must be people who exist at present like them, but where are they?

101 - It's snotty to point out and make fun of badfic? Also, don't let that stop you from writing - we all have to start somewhere. Shoot, I was looking at some of my older stuff and cringing the other day. I'm still learning. I say go for it.

170 - Now that's something that I would be able to overlook in a fic, especially if it's explained away or I consider that perhaps they've developed the character to where they have decided to allow others to use their first name. Really, that isn't so much a big deal to me. Then again, I let a lot of stuff that others complain about slide (like a typo here and there).

I can deal with a well-written, reasonable transition after considerable character/relationship development, but a lot of the time, it's just that characters are suddenly friends/siblings/lovers/whatever and the name shift comes out of nowhere, with no explanation or discussion. You know, one sentence it's "Suzuki" and "Tanaka" and the next it's "Hanako" and "Tarou" or whatever, and it grates on my nerves because it's so bloody unnatural and would never actually happen like that, and it's enough to yank me straight out of the story. Ugh. -steams-

...And I hate it, because it makes me sound like an elitist prick. -.-
