Okami is such a great game and the stylized art style makes it age super well. I don't have a Switch but I also own it for every Playstation it was released for.
Only thing I've come to resent is the talking. Having played it as often as I have, I'm really over that constant squawking.

I mean... yeah, there is some degree of unhealthy glorification of mental illness and neurodivergent issues/behaviour going on in some parts of social media sites (usually hand in hand with a concerning amount of highly inaccurate self-diagnosing based on dumb online quizzes and hearsay) but that's. Not really what's going on here?

It's the "oh but hyperfocus lets you be really productive" I dislike. Like yeah it does, but A: I can't decide what I hyperfocus on, which is sort of an important feature and B: it always ends with standing up several hours later and getting every status condition, which isn't a healthy way to work!

That's because you're not the age group for it. Kids love fantasies where the things that are different and stigmatized about them actually make them powerful. Let them have their escapist fun, and just watch things for people your own age instead.

You could casually ask whether they like experimental music, or whether they like a certain genre that you've been listening to next time they're complaining about new music. Depending on how they react, maybe go on ahead and suggest an artist you found. It might not be to your friends' tastes but chances are someone you know has more out there tastes than you knew, and would be into the stuff you like listening to. After all, they're complaining about mainstream music not interesting them, right? That makes me think that your tastes might be more compatible than you think. This goes both ways too, they might have older music that is really special to them or more obscure music that they've been shy about sharing that they listen to, so don't be afraid to ask for recommendations in return.
