Really? I think Japan has way more bile for other Asians than for blacks just because of, you know, WWII. Blacks generally aren't seen well because of a) Japanese beauty standards emphasizing pale skin and b) imported racism from the West. But they don't have so much personal interaction/history with blacks. Japan has way more tense history with China and Korea.

But you know, while that may look like a lot of people, I think it's really not. There are millions of people in Japan. :) I have faith that most of them don't feel that way, and find the situation just as sad as you do.

To me that just looks like a very vocal minority. There are people like that in every country sadly.

I used to be kind of awkward and shifty about my mp3 player going straight from Rammstein to Kander & Ebb musicals... then I realized that

1. There are people with far weirder spreads of musical taste, and when it's someone else and Self-Deprecating Mode is not engaged, it looks super edgy and interesting
2. Anyone who thinks Cabaret is light 'n' fluffy pansy shit either hasn't heard any of it in context, or isn't worth my time
3. Anyone who thinks Mutter is brainless shock-jock crap either doesn't speak a lick of German, or isn't worth my time
4. Talking about different things when you're with different people isn't being a poser, it's bonding over mutual interests--hell, playing with different dress codes to suit the occasion is fine too as long as it's clothes you like
5. ...that said, black lacy skirts + combat boots go with everything.

I don't think Sansa-hate is inherently misogyny. A lot of it has to do with the fact that she did initial betray her own blood because of idiot Joffrey. Granted, she's young, but she has a lot of redemption to do (and wisdom to gain) before I'd like here anywhere near the throne.

You do have a very good point here. I don't think the show would be nearly as entertaining (of the characters as wel-rounded) if they survived Hell, the Apocalypse, and everything else and still managed to end up acting like Little Miss Mary Fucking Sunshine 24-7.

I think a lot of the love stems from all the reasons you listed. He's a loser with a lame costume and a lame power and no friends, and it makes people feel bad and want things to get better for him. I myself don't even particularly like him, yet somehow ended up writing an Antonio-centric short fic anyway...

No, I don't want to read your fic where your self-insert Mary Sue cools Michael Myer's frozen heart enough for him to love and marry her. I want to read a fic where he guts her painfully while tilting his head in admiration of his work.

They can all be assholes. I think that's the main point of it, tbh. Though Bobby's hypocrisy bothered me the most since unlike Sam, Dean, and Castiel, no one called him out on his bullshit. It still pisses me off that he got away with telling someone that was already suicidal that it was his fucking fault that he (Bobby, that is) hadn't killed himself already and continued to suffer.

But then I've been in the position (twice even) where I was the one standing between a loved one and their suicide when I was myself emotionally unstable, so I know exactly how much that sucks and how hard it is. I might be biased as a result but I haven't forgiven Bobby yet for being such a callous, cruel, horrible small person, especially since he just got worse at the beginning of S6 with not telling Dean that Sam was back from the dead for nearly a year.

He got better after that but holy shit, he was just a terrible person for so long. I can't get past that.

But they all are terrible people at times.
