I'm glad you're feeling better! But I'm judging your doctor for not being able to come up with celiac disease as a possibility.

Aww, glad you found the reason! But I also feel bad that you had to live so long with the pains, because in Finland(where I live) glutein allergy is diagnosed really quickly! It irks me that it's though of a "rare" decease in USA(where I believe you live :D), when it actually isn't that uncommon.
(And where did I learn this? From "Mystery Diagnosis", a show of people just like you.)

I have a wicked bad case of acid reflux/digestive problems that have basically put my life on pause too, but my GI said I don't have the right test results for celiac (at this point I would welcome it, I swear -- it's something that you can actually do something about). She did tell me that it's the number 1 misdiagnosed ailment in the US.

I feel your pain op. I had crohns disease undiagnosed/wrongly diagnosed for 8 years. Sometimes I hate doctors. Glad you're feeling better.

I'm terrified that I'll end up with a gluten allergy. I don't think I could live with severely limiting what I can eat; God bless the ones that can.

(I know gluten-free foods do exist, but not everything I like is or ever will be.)

When my own condition started, I was put straight on a no dairy/gluten diet.

Did the OP specify celiac or just gluten intolerance? If it's celiac, OP will want to find a gastroenterologist who knows what's up. Even post-diagnose, I've received yearly endoscopies just to keep an eye on the damaged villii in my intestines. Also, start keeping watch for joint pain. It's common for inflammatory joint issues to show up with celiac.

If it's just a gluten intolerance, carry on, carry on...

I am so happy for you OP I could do a cartwheel :) I went through a decade-long search for a cure with my own illness, and there is NOTHING that compares to having a diagnosis. Even if you can't be "fixed", it's so nice to know you're not crazy. I hope you are feeling better and more hopeful.

This has gotten me... curious. See, I have a very dear friend who has the exact same symptoms you described. She even had doctors who told her she was faking it or wanting drugs, and her life has literally crawled to a halt around her.

Do you remember what day your secret posted? I'd like to see the feedback given to you, see if it can apply to her, but I'm having trouble finding it.

So glad you found that out!!!!!!!!! I wondered if we would ever heard from you about it. Gluten allergies are tough but I have a few friends who do pretty well with their diets and doctors so I wish you the best of luck and better health!!! <3
