After looking at the vid someone posted, she does look a lot better there than in the secret image. And I do like how the new Lola actually has a character besides The Chick.

All good, OP. Some people prefer Kris, personally I'm a Lyra fan girl

Yep.

YESSSS.

Same here. I will watch the crap out of anything he does pretty much. Though I think he would be a great Watson.

No. We are not going there.

I will not be spoiled. *covers eyes, avoids tumblr*

From the "walking on eggshells" bit, it sounds more like OP and the rest of their friends are trying their damnedest not to offend this person, but the "friend" is determined to get their daily rage fix however they can.

[identity profile] demacrux.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
I like Mos Def as Mycroft.

[identity profile] demacrux.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
If I am quite honest, initially seeing this secret, I fell out of my chair laughing as the crack idea was hysterical to me to say the least. But now..I really do want to see Will Smith as Watson. +1 to the OP.

I was too shell-shocked to cry. I might on a second viewing though now that I've taken it all in.

People base many of their headcanon sherlock on the Granada series. Maybe that is the reason

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Dreamwidth is that way *points*

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I think pacing was a bigger issue with this series rather than the fact that the too main leads were female. I can't bring myself to rewatch the series because of it. The soundtrack is love though, still my favorite Yuki Kajiura soundtrack to date.

For calling out the ignorance of that self-harm comment: thank you. That was *really* uncalled for. Self-harm is a real problem, not just done for attention 99% of the time, very easily triggered for some people, and the anon who made that comment is just making themselves sound like an ignorant asshole. Especially the perpetuation of that "emo kid" stereotype, UGH. That entire comment is just disgusting.

[identity profile] imati-lau.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. One may be tempted to try to salvage something that was once important to you, but the toxicity always ends up poisoning your own life. If I had know this earlier, I wouldn't have suffered as much as I did.

Hehe, that t-shirt comment was full of win. XD

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
I'd probably like the new Lola a bit better if they at least *tried* to be witty with her! Seriously 'Did you just move in with me?' 'Yes, I just moved in with you.' Are *not* good lyrics, in any way shape or form.

That said, while I'm not really loving the new art, I don't really hate it either. It'll just take some time to get used to it.

[identity profile] quinnzel.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
She was iconic in that she was the first female character. I love her design. It was dumb to even consider replacing her. I almost backed out of buying HG/SS because of it.

[identity profile] lashiec.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
'I seen lots of women arguing for more female characters in anything. Yet when they're given an opportunity like Noir it's suddenly overlooked.'

I agree. I feel this is definitely proven with Adventure Time and Homestuck.

In Adventure Time, genderbent Marceline/Princess Bubblegum has a ridiculous amount of attention considering the fact the subtext is when they're female.

In Homestuck, the females are generally more interesting (imo), but bare minimum they're on the same footing as the guys. M/m still reigns supreme.

NAYRT
I love how close-minded you are. We're not all the same.

BEES!!

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
No it shouldn't, asshole. Traumatic experiences like rape, abuse and SOMETIMES ABORTION should, though.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
That pissed me off too. I've never cut, but I've had serious depression issues, and I can understand the sorts of awful feelings that could lead somebody down that road. Not something to mock as being emo kids. What the hell.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Slut-shaming again.

Gonna have to agree that dating her shrink wasn't so kosher, and that Barney and her make a better couple. Also, I think that entire "no kids" episode was a preemptive strike against the studio interfering later to try and make her get baby rabies.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
I love Martin Freeman, but I would never use "thin" to describe him

I'm a little confused, he looks thin to me...
