Magnetism is all about personality, OP, not always looks. I don't know anything about this guy, but so long as he can throw off a magnetic air (which probably won't be too difficult, considering everyone else is grim and quiet), he should work.

I don't think I'd be really happy with whomever they picked (Because it would probably be a Standard Hollywood Attractive like this guy), but it's not like I was going to see Catching Fire anyway.

maybe his acting will surprise you. maybe he can act finnick's part perfectly. he might look boring, but a really good performance can transform the way you see a person's physical appearance, believe it or not.

Katniss does say she finds Finnick to be "too pretty" to be rally attractive to her own tastes. But, yeah, I don't look at this guy and go "Definitely can see this guy being considered a sex god." He's nice-looking but that's about it.

But I will be forever pressed that Armie Hammer isn't playing Finnick. His body and that voice saying "What about you, girl on fire? Do you have any secrets worth my time?"... Ugh, I'm so sad.

It takes all kinds to make the world go round, and not everyone is attracted to the same people. Just because you don't like this actor doesn't mean there isn't someone out there creaming their pants over the choice.

While I agree he's just kind of blandly pretty to me, I have a feeling most people would be dissatisfied no matter who was cast. As ridiculously attractive as Finnick's supposed to be makes it impossible to please everyone.

And, race issues aside, I loved all the actors for THG, so I'll just assume they know what they're doing. I mean hey, his performance could really blow us away for all we know.

No actor could ever possibly make everyone happy in terms of looks. All I care about is whether he can capture Finnick's personality. As I had very few complaints (ahem, Hemsworth) about casting for the major characters in the first movie, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

If he can pull off the atmosphere that made this character interesting, I have no complaints. Then again, with the race dispute, I doubt anyone would have been happy with his casting 100%, regardless.

idek why this is a secret, OP, because MOST people I know are saying THIS EXACT THING, including myself. I honestly don't know anyone apart from a few people over at Mockingjay who want this. Ugh.

Gotta be honest - the whole Jesse Williams thing seemed a lot more like a bunch of SJW who felt jaded because Katniss wasn't cast as a POC (even though she's not necessarily POC in the book) so they wanted to switch a probably-white role into a POC. I don't think Jesse Williams isn't pretty - he's handsome, but not pretty, so I don't think he would be good for Finnick. The support for him seemed so racial and "Look at me being so non-racist!" in nature that it just didn't seem genuine.

Is not as bad as Jamie Campbell Bower or something like that casted as Jace Wayland. I don't even like the character or the books, but man he was TOTALLY miscast!!

Personally, I think you're dead wrong, OP. Not just about his looks. Seeing him in POTC and Snow White & The Huntsman, he was one of the few things about both movies I liked. He's got a very charismatic personality in both, despite being in very few scenes. Whether or not he can really sink his teeth into Finnick's character and delve really deep, I don't know, but I feel they made a very good casting choice.

I am so disappointed that Not!Will Turner was cast. He's like a giant negative space on screen and bores me to death. He better step it up for this role.

After they cast a hunk for Peeta (who is was stated as "a little chubby with soft hands" in the book) nothing surprises me about these movies. I'm immune to their miscasts.
