They can't find it. Cause Uhara has it and she's not pulling it out of her snatch. She literally spends the entire movie leg locked around Spock's waist. He'd say this shit was illogical but he knows turning down never-ending poon is even more illogical. So he raises an eyebrow and says nothing.

I'm mostly looking forward to it for the main story, but I wouldn't mind some subtexty K/S scenes, to be honest. And since I ship them, I'd be pretty pleased if Spock and Uhura broke up, but does this really need to be a secret? It's pretty common to want your pairing to be as close to canon as it can be (which in this day and age still is limited to "has no canon love interest at this point in time" for main character m/m, so I suppose that's what we have to go with).

No K/McCoy though, are you crazy? XD

I actually...don't understand this at all. If there's absolutely no hope for your OTP to become canon, why would you ever want to destroy the pleasure of people who ship a conflicting canon couples by breaking them up and ruining the ship for a whole lot of other fans -- just so you don't have to go through the process of writing a breakup scene or slightly AU-ifying your doomed OTP's fic? I understand it if you think the couple actually has a prayer of being canon, but if it doesn't...why? Why on earth would you want to do that?

I agree that it's really irritating that m/m couples never become canon, but I've seen this attitude with people who ship obscure het couples who will never become canon, and it completely, utterly baffles me. Unless you would've disliked the pairing in question even completely separate from the fact that it conflicts with your OTP (because you think the characters are terrible together/it's problematic/etc), but wanting to break up a perfectly fine canon couple that lots of people ship even though the endgame for that scenario is "both characters are alone and less happy than they used to be, all their fans are pissed, and your OTP is still not canon and not going to be canon"? I just...I don't understand why anyone would wish for that.

I'm a gigantic Kirk/Spock shipper. OTP forever. To give you some level of perspective, I have a goddamn handmade quilt with K/S fanart on it.

But..... I am so very, very done being emotionally invested in the Reboot verse. I'll see the next movie (and any subsequent ones) in theatres a few times and buy the DVD(s), but only because I'm playing the game of "do what you can to signal to Paramount that there is still a market for another Trek TV series".

The saddest part about it all is that the Spock/Uhura ship, as horribly OOC and anti-feminist as it is, isn't even in the top five reasons I dislike the Reboot verse.

I hope the sequel is a good story with a convincing bad guy and it doesn't get bogged down in relationship shit - partly because that's fuck all to do with the story and partly because it's not Trek (except for Kirk / Green Skinned Space Babe Of The Week).

I sort of agree with this, but it's because I've shipped Uhura and Scotty since I was a tiny little sock and seeing them paired with anyone but each other leads to me having a "dafuq?" moment.

sorry to be the one telling you that but Spock already got a girlfriend and judging by the comics they're sharing quarters aboard the enterprise
If you expect them to break up in the sequel you're in for some disappointment because from what I've read by writers and a thing Zoe Saldana said, it's evident that they'll continue the romance and it wouldn't make sense otherwise. Had them not wanted it to continue they wouldn't have put it in the first movie, and they chose Spock among all the characters. Vulcans are freaking serious about their relationships.

(I love the Kirk/McCoy and Kirk/Spock scenes too!)
