So anyone watching/reading anything that either has a dead/inactive fandom or maybe no fandom at all? Anything you wish you could squee with more people over?

I'm curious, most of my fandoms are big in some way or have been (and I think some big fandoms can have the gravitational pull of a black hole from which there is no escape)- but is there anything awesome out there you wish had a fandom?

Sometimes I get nostalgia attacks and I'll find a ff.net page of 2 pages if I'm lucky, the last fic being a while back. For instance, weekenders from Disney was utterly hilarious sometimes (and I watched a few episodes on youtube again) but there isn't much of a fandom for it now. Also I remember as a kid before I knew what fanfic and shipping even was I shipped Carver and Tish together.... and yet there is no fic at all for them. Not even badly written fic. WOE IS ME.

Oh my god what the hell is with anime goods rant

Seriously, why is everything these days "super-ultra mega-special limited edition?" It's like the only merchandise that ever comes out for anime or manga is either super high-quality limited figures with gigantic price tags...or bizarre, flimsy limited goods (like small pillows and keychains) with gigantic price tags for what they are. It seems like the only stuff out for a reasonable price are blind box and prize machine things, which are still priced for more than they are worth and are tiny as all get out.

And don't get me started on "Anime x Popular Fashion Brand" collaborations. The merchandise they put out is not only unholy wicked expensive, it's often only barely related to the show in question. I'm talking like $150-$200 T-Shirts with the franchise logo on one sleeve and an unrecognizable abstraction of someone/something from the show on the front. Like, are you even serious? What the fuck is that? Nobody can even tell what the fuck that is, take that shit back to the design room!

Geeze, I just want some regular quality, good-sized merchandise at around the $20-$50 level that isn't some (limited) dinky keychain or a (limited) flimsy little pillow. I love figures, statuettes and shit, but when it's like $70 for one I just have to put on the breaks and say "OH HEEEELLL NO."

Japan, y u love limited and brand crap so much?!

Is anyone feeling me? Sometimes, I feel like the only one who's fed up with everything being expensive limited goods...

What to do after a car crash?

Trigger warning ahead for mention of a car accident!

Yesterday, I was driving to work and was involved in a car accident where a bicyclist ran into my truck. According to witnesses, he didn't look to see if I was turning before he went into the street, so technically, he hit my car instead of the other way around. (Insert Gilmore Girls "deer hitting car" reference here.) I completely freaked out, crying hysterically, thinking I had run into him.

There were plenty of people around, since this is a busy downtown metropolis area, so by the time I got out of the car, 911 had been called and there was even an off-duty nurse helping him. Some pedestrians even helped to calm me down and pray with me. He was alright, but his leg was badly broken. A bloody-looking bruise formed on his skin within three minutes stretching from his knee going all the way down his leg. Within five minutes, the ambulance and the police were there.

I never spoke to the guy since everyone else was taking care of things. I still feel awful about everything that happened. I'm just wondering, has this ever happened to anyone else? And how did you deal? I was fine all of yesterday and today, but it's all starting to crash down on me again.

As a side note, everyone at work was sympathetic but my managers. They listened to the story, fascinated, then when I asked if they could remove the points off my record we get when we clock in late, they said, "We'll see." Um, I'm pretty sure this type of scenario falls under the "Act of God" clause or something.

Anyway, sorry for the long, rambling story, but there's no one else I can really talk to about this. My family and friends are already sick of hearing about it, since truthfully, I've talked about it now for almost 24 hours straight.
