I agreeish, I don't get them. But I don't really care if anyone else wants to use them.

The only shipping name I'm okay with is: Angry Birds for Bruce Banner/Clint Barton and no one is using it...

How is this show, by the way? I know a lot of people who really like it, but I've heard from others that it gets really preachy, and I am not a fan of preachy anything (even if I agree with the message).

Troll secrets!

(Anonymous) 2012-11-24 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you ever made a troll secret, or any secret expressing an opinion you don't actually have?

Be honest.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-24 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
It's worth a shot, OP. You never know, maybe you guys can talk about what you like about your shows, and compare different things/things you'd wish they'd done differently. Good luck. :)

I don't really see what's so scary about that?

It's not like you'll be forever known as that washed up writer who wrote a bunch of fics that not a lot of people read.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-24 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
but i poop from there

Yeah, but it was really lame.

No. No you can't.

[personal profile] insanenoodlyguy 2012-11-24 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't care for hetalia at all (HOMESTUCCCCKKKK) but I'm sure your canon is inferior and you are a dick. This isn't trolling. It's the fact that every other person who talks like you is a dick with an inferior product. Cause if you were so damn good your stuff eclipsed the source material , you'd have something of your own to begin with.

Like the anon above me, I couldn't bring myself to finish reading this series either but I would want this just to see the wank that would explode. I remember when I was in fandom how there were so many haters for that pairing and quite a few of them were really intense about it.

So it might be worth it to see those people get a bug up their butt if they're still around.

But I doubt CLAMP would ever do that. They tease and tease but actual couples I find are a bit rarer.

For those who saw the latest episode of MLP:FiM

[personal profile] morieris 2012-11-24 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
What did you think of the episode? It was a little strange to me, and I don't quite think the moral meshed with what happened, or it didn't do so well enough.

/preliminary spoiler warning

I'd say women are likely to be insecure about their looks forever... there's a reason anti-aging creams and plastic surgery are a big hit with older women. We're taught from a young age that our looks are the most important thing, and so when they start waning as we get older... yeah, I'd say it's likely MOST adult women are insecure about their looks.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-24 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Most people I've heard are talking less about her actual face than about her ears and the fact that she constantly leaves her mouth open, which is pretty consistently considered an unattractive habit. That being said, I don't think she's overly attractive or a good actress, both of which are usually necessary for the roles she gets.

And you may just not be very attractive, OP, which is something you need to learn to deal with, probably starting by not comparing yourself to people in the public eye.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-24 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Now I'm sad yet I'm smiling like an idiot. Great comment.

That would be funny too. Watch all the shippers explode.

SJ on the internet has only managed to polarized people and fandoms. Every once in a while you can have an intelligent conversation and maybe learn something. The "die white cis scum" people need to have their internet taken away.

First, what exactly is 'fen?' I'm assuming it's supposed to be a plural of the word fan but I wanna be sure.

Second, I don't see a problem with it. Call it field research. Surely it follows that you can better illustrate something that you have experience with, yes?

[personal profile] insanenoodlyguy 2012-11-24 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Because tragedy wank material. I mean, it'd be horrible, but I get where OP's going.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-24 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Not the OP, but I agree. It seems especially true with women. People tend to call actresses 'ugly' or 'trashy' or 'fat' rather than actually insult anything of substance. Of course, that's just in general and I'm sure there are plenty of people who dislike her for real reasons (like you said, since she's an actress, if you dislike her acting then that's a pretty good reason not to like her.) But most of the time when people talk about her it comes across as very petty.

IMHO, anytime someone says 'I don't like her, she's ugly', I immediately disregard the validity of the opinion. If they really had a reason to dislike her, they would say that instead, because in any other situation saying 'I don't like (insert random person you know), s/he's ugly' would be pretty offensive and shallow. People just get away with it because KStew is a high-profile celebrity.

The first two seasons are great, the third one is meh and has some problematic stuff (but it's still better than other cw shows)

I imagine it could make one a bit more informed, but of course if female the experience isn't going to be exactly comparable. Not that women can't still enjoy anal sex, of course. I've seen plenty women say they love it. But...you're right, the parts are different.

On my shitty phone it is, yeah.

I don't see why it's so hard to figure out what an abbreviation means.

It's not about my reputation, it is just scary as it is. It's like living in a huge empty building all alone, while other people don't even pass by. IDK, I'm probably fucked up.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-24 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I find her ugly. If she were a random person walking down the street, I wouldn't care. If she worked with me, I wouldn't mention my opinion on her appearance out loud. But since she's a big star and I have to see her face on every wall of every store I enter, and hear people rave about how beautiful she is, it irritates me (because I don't agree, and I'm tired of so much love without enough hate to counteract it). I vent my frustration by ragging on her. I don't go to her twitter and rage in her face, and I usually don't spew ugly insults in general forums either, but hey, some do because they like to attack or are louder than I am.

I have no way to judge you personally (maybe you are just that talented of a comic creator) but 99% of the time when I hear someone say 'better than canon', what they really mean is 'focuses on things I like more than canon does'. In the Harry Potter or Naruto fandom I've sometimes had people recommend me fics that they considered better than canon, and, well, they weren't. What they were, though was better forbidden love stories than canon, or better stories of political intrigue than canon, or so on and so forth. As someone who isn't particularly interested in those things, I thought the stories were way, way, worse than canon; the people who recced them to me, though, loved them.

I guess my point here is that there's nothing wrong with liking your headcanon better than canon; it's uniquely tailored to you, after all, in a way no one else's canon could ever be. That doesn't make you actually better than the canon creator or other fans, though. It just means you're good at creating stories you'd like to read.
