Ah, shoot. My headcanon definition has been crushed =( Whenever people use "fen" instead of "fans" I always thought of it like "fen" = "fan" + "hen" so it would refer specifically to female fans of an older age group.

They're very convenient for tagging.

On Tumblr especially you can't lose slashes without b0rking the url, and variations like 'First name + First name', 'Last name + last name' etc will splice into different tags. A standardised portmanteau fixes that.

But even before Tumblr they were useful for Google search. Google doesn't recognise '/' compounds either.

I...really got the impression that the picture was of OP's art skills and that is the best they've been able to do after years of trying. Art is a lot like music or sports: some people are naturally talented, some people can become good or even great, some people will always remain mediocre, and some people are never going to be more than tolerable.

Ditto this and also I have a PS3 while most of my friends are 360 gamers. There are a lot of reasons why playing with friends isn't always an available option especially when you're adults, and playing with randos online can be a miserable experience.

Related to the anal secret: anyone else tried anal? Did you like it?

Well, my fandom is filled with skilled writers, so the subpar ones really stick out. Even so, I find myself enjoying what the less skilled ones put out, sometimes even more so. People can always pass over art they don't really like. But they can only find it to like it if you put it out there. Unless your fandom's full of assholes that will attack if you post your art, I'd say do it anyway. (And if there are assholes like that, you could post your art just to spite them.)

Sorry to bother you here but I saw you mention this soemwher else and have to ask, can you link me to that epic XMFC Charles Mpreg fic? It was like 36 chapters with a lot of angsts, at first he didn’t know who the father was because he hadn’t felt anything when Erik raped him from behind, he thought it was just a massage (lol), and the baby almost died becayse he didn’t notice he was in labor int he wheel chair. He was also worried about getting fat and bloated with fat ankles and anorexic for a while I hope you didn’t take it off line it was soooooo good!
