Flying. I've wanted to fly since I was a kid. It would be so exhilarating - plus, transportation would be so much easier, weather permitting.

As for the bugs and birds in my teeth, I'll just wear a kickass helmet.

I wouldn't want invisibility. I'd either abuse it by becoming invisible to avoid problems or try to abuse it by stealing things but be very bad at it.

Man, I wish I could fly.

OMG I bawled like a baby through the last two episodes. Sooooo unexpectedly good. Although, I thought Arc/Yucie was adoracreepy and full of dramatic potential if only someone dared explore it. ~~Everyone else were all totally lesbians.~~

But seriously OP, you really need to say something to the person who was nice to you. It seems like they could potentially be a good friend, and they really went out of their way for you.

I wouldn't go as far as doing some hardcore whiteknighting (because that usually only stirs up drama) but throwing in a 'she's really not that bad' when it comes up would be a nice thing to do.

And I don't know why people get so scared to unfollow people on Tumblr or where ever. Click the button and be done with it. And if you're afraid of fallout or messages coming your way, turn off anon and block the person as well. It's not that hard.

I do the same thing, especially on secrets that I'm afraid will generate some wank.

We are constantly telling people not to do those things. None of them is considered to be at all socially acceptable.

The problem with rape, and the thing that makes it different, is that we tell people that there are loopholes. "No" means "yes;" if you've gotten to a certain point in making out/foreplay, then s/he owes it to you to go all the way, so it's okay; if s/he's drunk, then it's okay; if s/he's dressed a certain way, then it's okay; if you're in a committed relationship, then it's okay. We make far more excuses for rape than we do for the other types of crime that have been mentioned.

Assuming I don't end up in a lab somewhere with electrodes stuck to everything, flight. But only if I could carry stuff with me, my clothes weren't ripped off by the speed of travel, and it didn't tax my metabolism too heavily. I mean, I'm chubby and all, but if I had to eat half my weight in sugar everyday like a hummingbird, bring on the invisibility. But flying would be awesome--I could travel all over the place and make money as a courier at the same time.

The funny thing is, I see calvary more often than I see cavalry! Someone please tell me that there is some amusing instance of it being used on tv or radio that is being referenced, ho ho ho, as with "I resemble that remark!" - which is almost as infuriating.

I'm rooting for Archbishop Timothy Dolan (of New York's archdiocese now, previously of Milwaukee's) to get the spot (as are many), as he's likable, less openly an asshole to people the Catholics generally hate, and pretty decent (I've met him in person).

How jealous do you get of the half dozen regulars who can turn up, make a passing sincere comment, and leave everyone livid with white hot rage, just by being their unloveable selves.

They're naturally better then anything you could even hope to achieve however hard you strive.

Personally, I'm a lot less interested in winning assholes like you over than in getting you to be civil in public. If you're stewing in your rage and judgements quietly, I count that as a victory.

how you get your internet then? most of us in america have cable internet as well. You using phone lines still? Or satellite?

Interestingly, the more egalitarian a society is as far as gender goes, the fewer instances of rape there tend to be. How would your model explain this?

Satellite is the standard in rural Canada too. I'm assuming it's the same in rural USA.

Just tell them that you don't like it. Then you won't have to worry about it anymore! Being honest with each other is something that friends do.
