Wow, I hadn't really realized that until you brought it up. I dislike Ephram/Amy so much that it didn't really occur to me that their writing was weak in comparison.... Maybe that's a lot to do with why I never really liked them.

17. I... kinda-sorta agree with you there. I mean. On the one hand, I like the journal/comment-thread stuff. It's fun. But I also like threading and serious characterization and plot, a lot -- that's why, I think, at the moment I'm getting the most enjoyment out of a private RP which is really more co-writing project than RP I've got going with a few friends, with an original universe/characters/plot.

The comment-thread style of RPing is reeeally tricky to pull of with IC-ness and depth. Mainly it's just crack, and sometimes, yeah, it goes overboard.

As a little afterthought for #17, I'd like to say that comment-threads can be very interesting for exploring character in a serious capacity. Some characters who are very quiet/shy in canon could conceivably be more talkative/show extrapolative, unusual but still IC reactions over a medium like journals or whatever -- it's the same principle as with real people and the internet.

Well not really when it comes to younger kids. I mean, I'm sure there's plenty of kids who watched Cardcaptors or Pokemon and wanted to be like Sakura or Ash or Misty. Whether it's a cartoon or not has no bearing on whether a kid's gonna be influenced by it.

HAHAHA I was just gonna recommend damned to that person, because that's the only RP I could think of where you HAVE to RP and just posting on their "bulletin board" doesn't cut it (it doesn't even count for RP requirements).

Those other places sound good though. I should check them out, I'm also sick of seeing every RP I join dominated by retarded comment threads. THEY'RE NOT FUN.
