You do still play video games tho. Maybe not games from 2013, but you do still play your old favs. I think that counts.

I think people wanting to be held to the title of "gamer" kinda skews things for people. If you like playing games you like playing games. Or if you only play puzzle games, then you can still be a gamer, just a different type. You can still say you play video games even if you just play them once and a while.

If watching your husband or LPs make you happy rather than playing a video game, so be it. Personally I know how it is to lose love for something you had so much for in the past, but new things crop up and slowly cover the void. It's okay to change.

Go to a cardiologist. Please. Please please please. Vasovagal syncope is recurring and can have lasting, devastating effects. Aside from the most obvious effects on your heart and entire cardiovascular system, the events can damage any organ in your body due to lack of blood/oxygen supply.

Video games are something I share with my husband, and despite being relatively new parents, we can find time. We usually play in the evenings, and tend to stick to MMOs and shooters that we can pick up and drop freely.

JRPGs and other games that you have to sink dozens of hours into aren't really feasible, but there are definitely options out there. We stick to multiplayer games and make it a together thing, and thus we can usually find time for at least a couple hours every night.

You can try checking the website Co-Optimus for lists of games that are multiplayer.

I can't stand Jim Carrey's fucking face. That over-the-top grin and his constantly humoristic-mocking tone just make me grit my teeth.

If ever there was the definition of a punchable face, Jim Carrey has it.

I liked the last episode and I like Clara so far, but I am not letting myself completely get into it because I am just waiting for Moffat to mess it up.

He already made her a SUPER SPECIAL MYSTERY so I know he cares about her more as a plot point then as a character, so it's better for me to not get attached.

I was watching a rerun of Sarah Jane adventures where 10 shows up and I almost started crying mourning the loss of when I cared of the Doctor and his companions that much.

...I agree with you 100%.

At first I was like, hmmm, DLC isn't so bad. I hate it now, hate it hate it HATE IT. It's so aggravating. Finish the damn game before you release it and then LEAVE IT ALONE.

Makes me feel old and grouchy. But then I realize compared to the super young 13-year-olds out there, I definitely am. -_-

Is it just me, or does fandom love secret dicks?

[personal profile] feotakahari 2013-04-04 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Britannians have secret dicks. No, Tamaraneans have secret dicks. No . . . Hmm, who else has secret dicks? I know I've seen this more times than that.

Edit: Just realized this makes it sound like I personally love secret dicks. I guess I might as well run with that--as an owner and caretaker of a penis, I don't have anything against them.

So a, say, terminally ill parent who can't tend for themselves, should not tell it to his adult or almost adult children, when they want to travel to other side of the world, because that would be abuse? True, they should just die in silence, and if their kids are affected, they are no longer there to care right?

I don't manage it often, but I can report that lucid-dreaming sex is amazing. Practise and good things shall come, OP. Perhaps slightly unexpected, but good.

Yeah, I'm not sure how it all was supposed to work, either. But we do see her regenerate (twice), so she's at least part Time Lady...

Not when it leaves me more messed up than how I started.
Unless I want to choke down more antidepressants.

Taking unnecessary chances used to be a thing I did, but I learned my lesson well on that.

Andrea at least LOOKED for Carol's fucking kid while Carol washed clothes and cried. Andrea at least learned skills to fucking protect herself and others and tried to make her own decisions about what was best for herself instead of just going along with whatever the 'men' declared was best.

Or are you one of those people that hate her because she was suicidal after losing her sister and being in a fucking zombie apocalypse and complain that she didn't act 'depressed' properly?

Historical context is actually really fucking relevant here though. It takes place in 1912.

I have chronic low blood pressure so get light-headed a lot and have to bend over for awhile after standing up on a regular basis, or that starts happening... But because I know of that and how to fix it, I've never actually fainted. Closest I came was once when I was getting blood drawn for some labwork and not only was I dehydrated, but they had a new person doing it and they blew a vein in one of my arms. So the experienced tech tried in my other arm, and I closed my eyes, and suddenly she goes "Whoa. Uh, okay, take some deep breaths" and I had no idea why she sounded alarmed, so I opened my eyes and everything looked like a staticy television set. Oops. Took me about half an hour to feel normal enough again that I could drive myself home from the lab. :P

I'm gonna take week to mean within seven days, because I look forward to seeing my sister back from her trip in Japan. She has promised me kit kats of many flavours. I-it's not like I missed her or anything!

And I am not looking forward to a 3 hour "interactive" staff meeting.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-04 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Even as someone who shares the OP's attitude, I think you've got a good idea going on there :)

I just complain a lot because it BOTHERS me and I don't especially want to force myself to not say anything to my fandom friends when I'm bursting to and when I have so many arguments about my dislike, and I can't help start predicting bad stuff once I've been burned one too many times (not to mention, having low expectations and being pleasantly surprised is way better than having high expectations that get dashed). I never do it to actively ruin someone else's enjoyment. Never ever ever tag my hate, etc.

Actually, rule of thumb: unless you really, really, really want to be involved in the fandom of a show you like and feel like you're restless or unsatisfied with watching without a fandom, stay away from it and just watch the show on your own. It's usually better that way.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-04 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Of all the irrational things that could make a person on this comm angry and spiteful, I would never have thought that, "I don't know what fandom this is" would be one of them.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-04 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, the thing that bothered me the most was that she kept the Rapunzel in the same damn kingdom ruled by her parents all that time. Would it have been so hard to move to a new kingdom? yknow, one where she wouldn't be seeing those lanterns in the sky every night making her want to go see them in person?

A couple of times, the one I remember most was in the ER, it sure as hell got the attention of the Nurse.

When it happened I didn't have time to react or anything I blacked out and woke up on the floor with my lip bleeding. It was from going about 48 hours without sleep though so, that was probably the cause.

I get dizzy a lot though (especially when I shower or when I get up if I lie flat on my back or stomach), and if I don't sit down or lean on something I faint. Never really thought about when or why it happens, it is just a part of my body that malfunctions once in a while.
