28. I actually made a non anime secret just now! While most of this community is composed of anime fans, there are a few people who like other things too. Some of the things I like (and have posted secrets about) aren't even japanese.
Even the anime I do watch tends to be older stuff (aside from Claymore), so I don't really understand a lot of the secrets here either - and I'm an anime fan!

Ship what you want, but don't pretend you're canon when you're not, because you're stepping on the toes of everyone who's trying to enjoy the REAL canon pairings without getting locked into debates about how they're wrong.

13. We're not that bad. Alright, we're pretty bad sometimes. Seriously though, I skipped around in the anime (only because I find the manga usually a lot more enjoyable), I didn't touch filler and I joined relatively late in the series' progress, and still the fandom wasn't that scary to me. It was after I dug around in it for a long while that I realized how truly terrifying it is for reasons other than elitism. So uh. Actually, I don't know where I was going with this. Basically, it's more lighthearted than you think (it's a series about retarded gay ninjas and I think on some level fandom realizes this and can't take itself too seriously) but it's also extremely frustrating in that way that big fandoms inevitably hurt the brain sometimes.

15. Holy shit iawts. Nausicaa movie is a nice adaptation, but the comics were brilliant.

28. Why ... should the community service your needs specifically? Most of the time I have no idea what a lot of the secrets are referring to, but I deal, because I don't expect people I don't even know to all the time make things just to please me. Because that's insane. Make an offshoot non-anime community, maybe? Something constructive? Instead of griping at people for liking what they like?

Exactly. This is why 28 is getting all this hype- because it is [b]relatable[/b]. Don't get me wrong I think people should post whatever they want- even if it is anime. (I do like anime, But I've only seen/read a couple of series.) But I am a little dissapointed on days where I can't relate to most secrets... but that is no one's fault.

Considering your plots are mostly Death Note centered, it's hard for anyone who isn't in on things to have uninvolved characters become involved. Why do you think so many people left? They had no idea how to integrate with their canons.

3. As interesting as this is...it kind of bothers me. I mean I'm a lesbian and I don't declare "cocks are gross." Also, WTF is with the implication that female characters other than Batvillains have no spines?

I do agree that the lady Batvillains are hot as hell, though.

13. Naruto fandom is friggin' huge--I'm sure you can find some pocket of it that doesn't care how much of it you've watched/read so long as you're willing to squee over the characters with them.

21. Unreadable secret is unreadable. Okay, but not really--just frustrating to read. (Also, Aerith's boobs aren't that small? I guess compared to Tifa's...)

I don't see what's wrong with ♥ing a character for having small boobs but still managing to be cool and/or sexy. So long as you don't bash on the big-boobed ones.

A lot of the people complaining about how girls with big boobs get bashed for it forget that girls with small boobs get bashed for it just as much. Several of my friends like to rail about how Rukia is a "loli" and has an army of "pedophile fans." I've even seen Soi Fong called "loli" for having small breasts.

For a major female character in an RPG, they're pretty small. A lot of fans joked about how they looked so much bigger in AC than the original designs. And I heard some acquaintances bash Aeris fanboys for "not having the taste to like the woman with actual breasts" and stuff like that, god knows why.

I really don't get why small breasts = loli. I hate that, because it makes me feel like the only man who will ever like my body is a pedophile. And while I know that isn't true, I still don't like that people think that.

what can I say I don't have much interest in girls in anime! never even had a fav girl character either come to think of it. I think I felt something for Lavi from Last Exile cause she was an awesome character, but they totally shafted her out of the story towards the end.

28. Even as an anime/manga fan I often skip over a lot of the secrets. Either because I haven't seen the series or because I'm unable to read the text on it. Yeah and all those RP secrets, couldn't care less about them. Have you tried promoting fandomsecrets on your flist though? Take this secret and rant about the comm in your LJ; maybe your friends will be inspired to post their own secrets. The only reason I started watching the comm was because I had so many friends ranting about secrets they disagreed with all the time.

28 - God forbid people actually make secrets about fandoms that they're A PART OF. If there aren't enough non-anime secrets, then it's more of a fault of the non-anime fans instead of anime-fans.

People are going to make secrets about what THEY like and what's important to THEM, not YOU, so either do something about the problem or suck it up.
