Star Trek

With Into Darkness around the corner I've been on a Star Trek spree, and so I'd be eternally grateful for a few things.

Bones/Kirk friendship fic or Kirk/Uhura friendship fic. (IDEK if the latter exists but I've been craving it lately; hadn't got around to searching for it though.)

Also anything character centric with Sulu, Chekov, Scotty, or Uhura would be delightful.

TOS or reboot doesn't matter.

(Actually...is there any fic with Cupcake from the reboot? Maybe Cupcake/Uhura friendship OR romance? That would be awesome.)

Note: I realize I could probably find most of this stuff pretty easily so don't go out of your way, I just want to know if anyone has favorites.

And it's understandable when you need to walk away from a relationship when continuing it would just dangerous for your health. There are other people, who have resources available, who can help her. It will be okay.

This may sound stupid, but I learned a trick from a movie that honestly made me feel better, so I will offer it to you. Put your hand over your heart (as though you were saying a pledge), pat it gently, and say to yourself, "All is well."

I doubt it's as pat as the original theory but you honestly think a story about a farmgirl from Kansas with silver shoes walking on a gold road and dealing with a fraudulent authority figure didn't have just a little to do with politics if it came out in 1900?

I'm just the opposite. I post fic all the time with no problems, but I almost never post any of my art because I think it sucks too much. My writing always seems to turn out the way I want it after a few rounds of editing, but with my art I keep getting caught up in all the flaws and end up psyching myself out of posting anything.

Some people can. Actors often fake accents, though I agree French is generally a hard accent to get rid of.

Given the setup of the episode he already knew she was going to break her wrist - that was already a given. It was going to happen no matter what he did. If he stayed it would have been HIM breaking her wrist. So basically he was fucked either way.

Argue that writing of the episode was over the top and ridiculous if you want - I'll probably agree with you. But I'm not agreeing to the idea that the Doctor was a dick given the set up of the episode.

Yeah, I had commented further down with that - save the tags for the major focus of the story, note int he summary or AN that there are mentions of the others.

Even though there are traits of Micaiah's that ring as sue-ish to me, she's a really fascinating character. Probably one of the more complex FE characters, definitely right up there with Jill in the Tellius games. She has to make some hard decisions, and IMO people are just bitter that Ikeypoo wasn't the star at the very beginning of FE10. Boo hoo is what I say.

That said, Sumia's a cutie-pie. (Hehe. Pie.) Eliwood has always been a bit meh for me but he never struck me as very Sue-like, because he really does face consequences of decisions he made in FE7? If that makes sense.

That said, everyone likes to throw the word "Sue" around as like, an insult, so yeah, it's pretty much lost all original meaning. It's one thing to dislike a character--it's another to say they're ridiculous within their own world's restrictions, which most characters are not. Hell, if anyone is Sue-ish in FE9/10, it should be Ranulf, Mr. Heterochromatic Eyes. -_- But even then, he's not, because he's pretty normal by FE standards!

Like most people, I can see why some characters could be considered Sues, but at the same time...it's FE. Everyone has a sob story background and is ~special~ to the main army and all that bullshit. So at the end of the day... Not a Sue. IMO.

This is me, too. I used to always fake it but about a year after dating my SO I finally told him the truth. I still get enjoyment from sex and now sex is better for both of us. I usually masturbate afterwards and he enjoys being a part of that. It's become a natural extension of our sex life.

Haven't read much Avengers fic myself, but this seems to be a pattern in most shipping fandoms. When people write shipping fic that includes other characters, they want to pair those other characters up. Maybe the writer doesn't like het and would rather pair up two guys regardless of canon. This becomes a trend, and maybe people like the way the characters interact (or look) together, so they start writing/drawing about that pairing specifically and it becomes a part of fandom.

As with everything, everyone has a different opinion on them. Then, of course, you get those people who insist everything is right and canon.

Everybody reacts to things differently and everyone handles their pain differently. Just because something doesn't seem like a big deal to you doesn't mean it wasn't to them. And they might not be describing everything they've gone through in detail.

I've sorry for all you've been through but you need to take a step back and not take other people's issues personally.

Somebody here on F!S showed how to filter out Steve/Tony from your preferred OTP tags on AO3 by putting this in the "search within results" field while searching for your OTP: -"Steve Rogers/Tony Stark". You can put several pairings in at once, though I haven't figured out how to remove threesomes. I use the method for other fandoms, it's been a relief.

I didn't expect it and it felt like a copout. They made big deal of her working with Varys last season and then suddenly she's dead. Like, what was the point? I don't know, I wish we saw more of her in her new profession as she called it.
