I don't think their relationship was one dimensional and it did grow, but it what's-his-name did rape him at the beginning in typical yaoi trope of "he didn't want it but really he did." Now, I can forgive yaoi tropes a bit, and I take it with a grain of salt because hey, I like yaoi. But if I remember correctly, the other two couples in the series were much more interesting than the "main one" (which, iirc, was the only one with rape). The others, particularly, I think, the second one, was a lot more realistic.

Sorry if I've forgetting something, because I watched the anime years ago.

I don't understand why the "not secrets" aren't secrets.

These two on this post fit as fandom secrets. I just wondered about your reasoning to classify them as non secrets.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but what on Earth does McDonald's have to do with eating disorders?

(If they're really complaining about nothing, your best bet is probably to ignore them completely. You could try a polite response--something along the lines of "I don't know what you're talking about; this fic doesn't even mention eating disorders"--but if their response to that is an insult, ignore them, and delete their comments if the site you're posting on allows you to do so.)

I'd say the reaction against them is deserved, but the reaction against all gamers who happen to be female isn't. The problem is when people assume all gamers who happen to be female are like the ones OP describes which is obvs not at all true

I'd say it sounds less paranoid and more dickish. Like, somebody can't handle the thought of anyone else not shipping their ships, so they accuse the non-shippers of racism.

Paranoia implies fear. These people are just assholes who never heard the story of the boy who cried wolf.

I don't ship Spock/Uhura but I do sometimes ship Scotty/Uhura. So I'm assuming that earns me a "get-out-of-race-wank-free" card. I mean, unless someone is saying I'm xenophobic against Vulcans. That would be interesting.

As for your actual secret, um, yeah, it's overdone. Sometimes things are motivated by bigotry and sometimes people just have different tastes. It's a complicated issue I feel a lot of people try to simplify into... black and white. :/ Pun really not intended there. I'm just unsure how else to say it.

I hate "gamer girls". Not girls who are gamers but "gamer girls". And contrary to what people say, they DO exist.

I am a woman and I play games. I was an officers and eventually guild master of a fairly large guild in WoW for 4 years. I have dealt with "gamer girls". They are some of the worst players to have to deal with. They are entitled, they try to use being a girl to get them things, some will flirt incessantly with male members (even when asked not to), and they constantly have to bring up they are a girl.

If a female player is constantly drawing attention to the fact that she is a girl, I generally assume they are a "gamer girl". Fortunately, they are the minority.
