I'm still waffling on breaking up with my fiancee. Months after deciding it was pretty much over, months after she moved out to try to get herself together and I discovered I was happier than I had been in the last few years.

Just the few years before that, when she did have herself together, were pretty good. And I don't hate her, I still think she's the only person I could ever actually stand to live with (including my family) and we make an awesome team. We still talk online regularly and crack each other up when we do.

But right now I'm making the same kinds of furious frustrated posts about her lack of responsibility that I saw a past housemate of hers make, about the time she and I got together, so clearly she didn't change during all that time...

One of my OTPs gets a decent amount of fic, but 99.9% of the time they are one of the following three:
1) Genderbent AU drivel that screams self-insert
2) Google Translate can produce better English
3) OOC first person POV

So every time someone recs a fic for the pairing, I gleefully check it out, find out that it's this shit once again and drop yet another person from the list of people whose recommendations I can trust.

My nipples are somehow very... strong might be the word. They get pointy for no reason (not aroused or cold or anything) and are visible through my bra and shirt and pullover, and occasionally even through my winter coat. It's kind of embarrassing.

Sometimes shows like Happy Endings and Friends make me wish I had a core group like that. Then I realize:

- The characters don't appear to have any personal space, as their friends just waltz right in. I'm kind of big on personal space.

- I had two "core" groups like that before, albeit online (so things may have been different), and even though we were adults everything went 'splodey with teh dramaz. Not to mention the group hierarchy.

But still, sometimes it would be nice to be able to do things with people, rather than having to rely on the few friends I have being available.

It pisses me off when people complain about teenagers dyeing their hair "bad girl" colors like pink or purple. My sister did, and I thought it made her the coolest person in the world. I'm also pretty sure it made me realize I didn't give a rat's ass what anyone thought of my own hair. (Which I never actually styled, I was the other extreme. Now I'm somewhere in between.)

I found a few years back school books I thought I had lost forever (and that my parents had to pay for, since the junior high school I was in at the time would allow us to borrow them). And there was 2 or 3 of them, at ~$15 dollar per book. They actually fell in a space behind my desk's drawer, so nobody will know until I say so or until we change the desk.

Also, I told my parents that yes I actually feel better about my life, university and my future as a whole; but really I just got better at hiding it and not thinking about how I don't care for anything.

A gif set about the media "coddling" convicted rapists is going around tumblr, and it's scaring me but not because I "get" it. It scares me because I couldn't see the coddling. Everyone else thinks a news article saying that the rapists had had bright futures before they were convicted is the article's way of pitying them for a pesky little thing like being a rapist getting in the way of the bright future they deserve.

Well, now that so many people have pointed that way of looking at it out, I understand, but originally, it never crossed my mind that the articles were trying to show pity. I thought the point about the bright futures was expressing shame on them and pointing out that just because someone is successful and popular doesn't make them above committing a horrible crime. You know, in a dispelling of the often-used dismissal of rape allegations, "He couldn't have done it because I know him and he's such a great guy!"

But now I know I'm naive and delusional as always. I want to be mad, but I'm secretly afraid of what other true intentions I'm missing.

I always add new LJ friends because I think they'll be more interesting than my other LJ friends. They hardly ever are.

Well this maybe cause some wank, but at this point I'm boiling over with thoughts about it I need to talk about it somewhere. So I had to do a reading for one of my writing classes, and most of the material we are working on is serial killers. Our teacher had us read this article here http://gas.sagepub.com/content/3/4/437.abstract (you can get the pdf here and get read it yourself). The article is titled The Sexual Politics of Murder, and to not spoil it, the article is a bit...extreme. To give you a hint at what I'm talking about, the word patriarchy is thrown around a lot in it. That's what I wanted to talk about: Am I over reacting to the thoughts, idea, and tone in this article? To note, my teacher does not appear to be the kind of person to endorse this thinking, I haven't been able to ask her about it, but I'm seriously wondering why she assigned us to read it.

Just want to apologize for any wank this induces, I just REALLY need outside opinions on this.
