Despite the whole "Doing this in the name of Allah" aspect, these attackers seem less like the terrorists we've seen in the past like for the coordinated 9/11 attack and more of the garden variety psychopaths who want to create chaos because why the hell not. Allah was just the excuse. Like the Beatles' song "Helter Skelter" was the "inspirational" excuse Charles Manson to kill.

Still my heart goes out to you, UK.

What shocked me was how bold they were about it. Like, the one dude just stood with a bloody knife, letting people film him, screaming about how he will wage war.

Not songs, but soundtracks for movies, TV, games, etc. You know how soundtracks always have love themes for the various fictional couples? What are your faves?

Although I do poke fun at its overuse in the show, I really do think "Close Your Eyes" from Buffy is really beautiful.

I also love "Han Solo and the Princess" from Star Wars. Also from John Williams, that music from Superman and Lois Lane's flight in the 1978 Superman movie.

Star Trek Into Darkness fanfic

This is the first movie I saw on its release day and I have never regretted it so much. I want to read all the fanfics! :( but the only ones I can find are the ones that go "I've only seen the trailer so I'll have everything wrong but here's my fic." No.

Has anyone found any fic? By someone who has seen the movie? no reposting posters, interviews with actors or any wank that everyone knows about but actual fanfic? anything is welcome but I love my Uhara/Spock and Khan :)

I am never seeing a movie on it's release date ever again. The lack of fandom is dreadful.

Floods in Norway:

So my area is pretty heavily flooded right about now... Heavy rainfall and snow melting with a river that was already pretty big to begin with is a bad combination.

About 300 people are evacuated and they keep flying helicopters over my house to make sure nothing is going to fall down. And if that wasn't bad enough one of our Dams are threatening to break down because of the water pressure, basically all our main roads are cut off because of water damage, so is our train tracks.

My road is completely ruined, and I am not completely sure how I will get down to school tomorrow, but I am safe (and they will evacuate me if I am not), and so far no one is seriously injured.

I almost got into an accident while driving home today. I was driving at 40mph, there was a pickup truck a bit more than a car space in front of me in the other lane and a car right behind the pickup truck. The car behind the pickup truck suddenly changed into my lane and if I hadn't stepped all the way down on the breaks, I would have hit it. Thankfully the car behind me was a quarter mile away or it would have rear ended me for sure.

I fucking hate douchebag drivers. I hate them so fucking much.

About that women's suffrage 'Bad Romance' video

I just watched it after someone mentioned it in a secret the other day, and it's really awesome! Absolutely amazing.

But now I'm wondering why the representative of anti-suffrage women was also the only representative of non-"proper" women. She didn't look like she wanted to run a home and raise children and that's it, she looked like she wanted to party. Were flappers notoriously anti-suffrage? Am I missing background here?

For me, I need my advisor's signature so I can turn in my honors thesis. It's the last thing I need. She's already said she approved my thesis. But for some reason it's taking her forever to get this to me. I've been working on this for over a week, but she takes forever to respond to my emails, which is a pretty big pet peeve of mine.

Anyone else have stuff going on?

Anyone else read the last issue of Geoff Johns' run? also spoiler warning As much as I give the guy flak for his blockbuster tendencies, and focusing so much of the stories about Corps having conflict other Corps (or inner political guardian hoo ha), it was a very good series for me and I'm pretty sad to see his run end. Maybe it was a little less space cops, and more space opera shounen manga, but still ♥ Dude brought a shit ton of ideas and new mythos to the series, not to mention it was successful. imo.

also omg Jessica Cruz is the name of a future Earth GL that Simon gets to train. Sure sure, you get the damn hook to start following Justice League since that's supposed to happen after it's "death" but it's about darn time.

also, Sinestro giving the epilogue did all the cheesy goodness for me.

Speaking of which, even though I totally don't expect new writers to be held down by that epilogue, and maybe it was rather self-indulgent, but it was also mostly hitting me in the heart. Guy Gardner still remains awesome ("one punch" ahaahahahHA). Kyle becomes... space Jesus, and that's kind of telling about how much Johns doesn't know what to do with Kyle imo. Didn't really care about the rest other than Baz's tease at the new GL actually now that I think about it. Ain't harping on happy endings. Still liked it.

Sasuke wants to be Hokage and Team Seven is back together once more but the biggest issue here is still the fact that Sasuke declares in front of everyone that he wants to be Hokage
