What is something you hate doing but everyone you know loves?

I am stuck clothes and shoes shopping for a wedding. I hate shopping! But my sister loves it. So I usually just let her pick out stuff for me and dress me up (it helps I have no fashion sense).

Me too! But mainly because I developed a GI disorder/sensitivity, and now every time I go out to eat, it's like playing Food Roulette - is there anything I can eat here? will I be writhing in pain several hours later?

It's completely ruined my enjoyment of food. :(

Drinking a lot and going to bars/clubs

I'm not a prude, and I don't mind a drink or two, but I hate drinking with the aim of "getting drunk" both in philosophy and practice. And I hate loud, crowded places. :(

FUCKING ROLLERCOASTERS. I don't understand the appeal of being strapped into a box and being thrown around at high speeds.

Actually, theme parks in general. Overpriced, you wait around in lines forever, shitty food, and I hate most of the rides so there's nothing for me to do.

Shoe shopping. Just... shoe shopping. I had to look for a pair of fancy shoes recently because I hadn't worn my only fancy shoes in so long they got mouldy and... ergh... why are such fragile shoes expensive? I understand boots being expensive because they have to be made of something special to survive being attached to my feet for more than 6 months (My latest ones have lasted 5 months so far and seem set to last another 5 at least).
Clothes shopping isn't so bad. I am short enough that I can buy clothes aimed at teenage boys and it's a lot easier to find good clothes cheap. I also have some skill at taking advantage of freecycle.

Drinking and partying in loud places (thank you hyper sensitivity to sound).

I don't like concerts. I don't... get the point, or them, really.

going to the public swimming pool. i hate it. you have to change in those shitty narrow cabins while kids look under the doors, then you have to swim through an ocean of almost naked people, and you get chlorine in your eyes, and your entire body and swimming suit have that horrid swimming pool stink, and your hair is completely screwed, and you always get that afterthought that, yeah, someone totally pissed in that water. fuck pools.

Coffee and bacon.

Why does anyone like coffee or bacon? I can't stand the smell of either.

To a lesser extent, television. I watch what I consider a lot (an hour a day, perhaps) but some people seem to have it on like breathing. Does it not drive them crazy? I'm bored of sitting and watching something passively pretty quickly.

Rock concerts. I love hard rock and alternative and all the various related genres, but I HATE going to concerts. Too many loud people, pot smoke everywhere, guys who forget to have manners, music is so loud I can barely hear it, etc. As much as I'd like to see my fave singers and bands IRL, a huge concert is not the right venue for me. I'm just too aware of all the strangers around me and can't relax enough to enjoy the music.

Selfies or at least posting every single and last personal selfie online.

I can see posting a selfie proving that you made it to the summit of Mt. Everest or posting a selfie with the Pope proving you met him. But the umpteenth in front of the bathroom mirror selfie for that day or even that week just cause?

No.

I think I hate it because it is the ultimate begging for applause for the mundane. And I hate that, praising the ordinary rather than demanding the extraordinary. It's the equivalent of giving any a ribbon to every kindergatner for participating.

Drinking coffee and the entire culture that goes with it - i.e. friends being excited about Starbucks, Costa, or wherever place they get their overpriced hot beverages from. The smell along can make me unwell in certain cases.

Massages and bubble baths. Both are completely uncomfortable sensations for me.

Motherfucking football(or soccer to you). Thankfully my immediate close friends don't really like it either but it is so hard to escape it the rest of the time, it's all over TV, newspapers, on the radio and I just do. Not. Fucking. Care.

The culture that surrounds football also doesn't help my disdain of it either. (I don't mind sports in general and I have some that I like but the glorification that some sports get just aggravates me, that and most other sports are easy enough for me to avoid.)

Bars or parties with loud music. I don't begrudge their existence, and generally I've had a good time when I've been to most of them, but I'd probably would have had a better time if I'd been able to hear more of the conversation and not have to scream. A dance place I understand, but would it kill some bars to lower the music juuust a little bit?

People are perpetually shocked that I am not allergic to nuts, but I still hate them, anyway.

Shopping. Going to bars/clubs/basically 'partying'. Fucking cooking. Not *everyone* i know, but most people love at least one.

Eating or drinking chocolate. That shit either makes me extremely aggressive or gives me tachycardia. Sometimes I get both. This can happen with anything that contains caffeine, but chocolate seems to be my worst trigger.

I got married last year and was horrified at the idea of spending thousands of dollars on anything so frivolous. My mom kept telling me that I could/should splurge because ZOMG IT'S MY WEDDING IT ONLY HAPPENS ONCE but I don't like loud, fancy shindigs anyway, plus we're trying to save up for my immigration up there! That's a lot more important.

I think our entire wedding came down to maybe $500-600, and most of that was getting the wedding license and booking the chapel for the ceremony. Most everything else was just "stuff we had on hand" or "gifts from friends/parents" (a pastry chef friend of ours made our cupcakes!)
