1. WORD. Vader was kinda sexy. No, he was actually very sexy and intimidating and awesome.

Hayden made him a pretty-boy, whiny bitch. I don't even really consider the later 3 movies to be part of the canon XD

5. I have SKIN issues cuz I'm a Miyavi fan, and I think he's made so much progress since he started singing and playing his own songs. And now he's in a Gackt band, pushed to the back again. Argh. I hadn't heard about the racist thing, though. What's that about?

10. Bumi is the sexiest old man on the show. And Pakku's a close second. Then Iroh. Much as I love him, I wouldn't hit it. Bumi and Pakku? Uh... yes. In a second.

WORD. Miyavi is one of the best singers in Jrock today, one of the few people truly doing original stuff in visual kei, and he's being upstaged by someone who's not even vk anymore, much less good.

And I'm also a Yoshiki fan, and seeing people fucking blame Yo for Gackt's issues makes me headdesk myself senseless. NO, a drummer and pianist CANNOT make a vocalist sound worse or better. All Yoshiki could do was either up his volume (and risk ruining everything if Gackt continued to scream over him) or just keep playing and hope the sound guys correct it.

22. I wouldn't say a 'lower level of cognition', exactly. Different level of cognition is more like it. However, I do think that it is a big trap, into which fans can and do fall, to treat a book or film or anime as if it had an existence beyond the page/screen. That's probably why the best fanfic authors have a level of detachment from their source material. They know it's not real, and respond to it simply as a set of manipulable themes and characters rather than some kind of huge alternate world.

Thus, in 15, ladyjaida wrote a hugely popular fanfiction, then went off to do her own thing. Good for her.

22. Wow, that's not condescending at all. A lower level of cognition? How do you live in real life? I mean, on some level I agree with you, but I still think anyone who writes "Quidditch-toned muscles" is an idiot.

30. ... Am I just a cranky bitch today? When a fandom is big, like FMA or HP, you can't change it. You can do what I do, which is have friends, occasionally wank, and not be in any big comms, but there's no way in hell that one person can change a large fandom. Also, writing fic /= reading fic. I'm not sure why so many people don't understand that.

I also think someone who wrote about "Quidditch-toned muscles" is an idiot, though more because that phrase sounds like it would appear in the same fic as "throbbing manhood" or "trembling petals of luscious passion" than because it's unrealistic about the body-shaping capabilities of zipping around on a broomstick. Also, it's just lazy cliche in disguise. Replace "Quidditch" with "gym" and it'd still be annoying.

When I was younger, I didn't like it, but when I got older and rewatched some episodes, I got really into it. It's full of really obscure and clever pop culture references and parodies. (See: an entire episode dedicated to the film "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?") It's quite a better show than it first appears.

I feel for you. Especially on the Peter/Claire. I love to see Peter screw almost anyone in the series BUT Claire. I only watch the show and took a look at the fandom about a month ago, and it really shocked me how popular it is. Whatever floats people's boats is fine by me, but I honestly don't get it. Maybe it's because I watched the 1st season in like a week and a half, so I didn't spend much time not knowing Peter and Claire were related. Probably didn't help that one of the first things I wanted to find in the fandom was genfic about them, and I ended up finding loads of shipping.

Hiro/Ando works for me, though I wouldn't call it my ship.
