I was going to go to the beach today to see if I could see the whales, but it's too foggy. :(

Anyone else have mild disappointments today?

I was all set to go home and get to some stuff in particular (like a note to a friend) but I ended up losing my internet til now because my mom was feeling particularly snappy and wanted to teach me a lesson about not respecting her.


On the bright side , I actually ended up doing some stuff anyway and got something else done.

Sorry for butting in and (quite possibly) being very rude as it's really not my business, but is there anyway you can stick up to your mother about her not taking your Internet from you without worsening the issue?

Because from just seeing your threads around here it seems that it's a fairly common way for her to punish you, which to me seems awfully unfair both considering your age (and by that I mean that you are legally an adult and should be treated that way. Or being treated more like an adult at least) and that you pay rent to your parents.

I have to go back out because I forgot to buy my dad a birthday card while I was shopping. I hate greeting cards and think they're a waste of money, but no matter what other things I do he'll be put out if there's not a card to go with it.

I found a book about one of the cases I was researching, which means most of my work was for nothing. :( It didn't come up on google and I only found it in a footnote on an article. And it was a really interesting case that I was excited to be working on too.

I'm sorry anon. I've been there. It is the worst feeling, to know you've failed (and maybe that you've disappointed people). I hate it. I hope things get better for you. I'm sure there are things you are good at and I hope there are people who appreciate you.

I was craving chocolate truffles and actually walked right past them in the store when I was grocery shopping but I didn't manage to get past my guilt over spending money on anything that isn't strictly necessary to get them.

Disappointed in myself as I managed to oversleep for a lunch with a friend (I woke up five minutes before we had planned to meet). It turned out to be a nice lunch anyways though, where we got some talking done and I even randomly ran into my father.

But I still feel bad about oversleeping though, as I have been so good at not being late for things lately (which used to be a huge issue for me). And then I actually was two minutes late for class today as well, when I think about it, which was more embarrassing as the lecture had started and I had to sneak over to my seat.

Very mild - went to the store in hopes of getting some food that was appealing to my touchy stomach, and went to a specific one that's not my normal grocery so I could see what they had in another department. Was hoping to get some chocolate fudge frosting, and they didn't have the brand I usually get because it's gluten-free and vegan (I can't have wheat or lactose right now) and can keep in the fridge for a month... the brands they did have contained things I can't have on my restricted diet and/or only keep in the fridge for a couple weeks. :(

Also I'm kinda sad seeing that apparently everyone's ragging on Joe Nathan for blowing the save last night in the Tigers/Twins game, because there was some lousy fielding behind him too, so it's not like it's entirely his fault. The blown save was a sad thing in general, especially after the Martinez kid totally blew everyone away with the home run at the last moment - but that was yesterday. But I apparently have a thing for struggling closers, so I'm all :( :( :( whenever Nathan gets in trouble, just like I did previously with Valverde.

I consoled myself by buying the first video game I've bought this year, though, so that's something.

I had some stuff to do that I needed to talk to my mom about (for instance, she's hiring me to do a small job in our yard, and I wanted to ask her some advice on stuff I need to do that I haven't done before) and she left for long errands as soon as I got up. Then I lost my momentum and I haven't much that's useful at all. :( I don't get another day off until Saturday.

I'm not that upset, but I actually should be. I should be working with more urgency than I actually feel. :/

My LFR run of Gates was a bust. :C

I got no gear aside from some gloves I already have. the rest was gold, even when I did my extra roll.

We wiped on the Scorpion and then we wiped on teh freakin' trash demolishers before Nazgrim.
