I would like to point out that this person is being pretty much universally condemned, that this in no way changes the circumstances or the evidence in the ongoing controversy regarding police violence in the United States.

"Realistic" Dolls

I was going to make this a secret but I think Case might have ruled it N!F. Anyway, I'm a doll collector. Was huge into dolls as a kid and am still now that I have passed the awkward teen years of "you're too old for dolls!" and into the adult years of "fuck you I'll buy what I want with my own money."

My issue is, that stupid tired meme that always comes around of what a Barbie would look like if she was "average-sized". I am so goddam tired of seeing these artist renderings with a thousand notes about how great the idea is.

But can we just admit the fucking truth? There is not one of us who would actually have wanted that doll as a child, and if you say you would, you're a liar. The doll on the right is not the doll any of us would want to play with as kids:

Why? Because she looks bizarre! And frankly, ugly! Oh, but she's a "realistic woman" and we should all bow down before it. I've been around long enough to see so many "anti-barbie" dolls attempted and every one of them has crashed and burned. Maybe the kids smelled the pandering; maybe they just thought they were boring. This doll, Lammilly, is the newest offering:

The face is sweet, sure. But she bores the crap out of me. Give me glitter-shine Barbies any day. Plus, if we are going to toss around this horseshit that Barbie gives girls unrealistic expectations about their bodies, Lammilly would do just the same! If I had been influenced by my Lammilly dolls I would have grown up feeling ugly and freakish because the "average woman" shape shown here is completely different from my own.

So in conclusion: PLEASE STOP PRETENDING THAT "AVERAGE-SIZED" DOLLS WOULD MAKE THE WORLD A BEAUTIFUL, ALL-ACCEPTING PLACE. PLEASE STOP PRETENDING THAT MOST LITTLE GIRLS WOULD EVEN BUY ONE OVER A PRETTIER DOLL.

I admit it, I still listen to the radio. Mostly because I'm bored with my own music and plugging the iPod in and out and remembering to put it back in my purse when leaving the car gets tedious. So the radio it is, between the current music and public radio stations. Some of the DJ's (do they still call them radio DJ's or just announcers?) are good, some annoying as get out (I'm looking at you 103.3 Indianapolis…)

Roommate 1 is a prissy fuck who prides himself in being oh so holier than thou.
Roommate 2 baked a bunch of space cakes for her personal use and left them to cool off in the shared kitchen before going out with her boyfriend.
Roommate 2 and her boyfriend came back from their party and found Roommate 1 tumbled down in the living room, having stolen two space cakes from their plate, he couldn't even make it back to his own room.
Boyfriend too is laughing his arse off at the lightweight who can't handle his shit. Roommate 1 is oh so pissed at Roommate 2 for proving he's a thief and a hypocrite.
And I... well, can't be sorry for anyone here.

Does anyone else not drink?

I don't drink, and in your twenties that cancels out a looot of social stuff. Plus, people think it's because I'm super religious or something. (I actually had a friend say she wasn't sure we could hang out for the weekend if I wasn't willing to go to a bar. Looking back yeah, she was a bitch, but fortunately I pretty much told her that and she got over it.) I drink a bit, but it's hard for me to find a drink I like, and I don't like how being tipsy feels.

F!S, I am not a person who plays video/PC games. I am currently messing around with art that corresponds with a D&D campaign I played in high school. One of my friends did some versions of the characters in the D&D game in some kind of fantasy game that he owned.

I think it was Neverwinter Nights, but I want to confirm that. The images my friend did were created between 2004-2006, so the game must predate that.

So my mom, grandpa and myself have just come back from a pretty terrible vacation. First, the airline messed up during our initial check in and we missed the flight, had to wait for another almost a day later and then spent the night in a god-awful airport.

Having finally arrived at our destination it turned out to be not quite as advertised (we had one of those all-inclusive resort/flight deals), but it wouldn't have been so bad overall had it not been for the airline misplacing our luggage upon our arrival back home. They've supposedly located it, but now we have to wait for it to be actually located and delivered.

To sum up, the actual vacation part, ie. the resort at the beach, I could probably hand-wave as at least alright, had it not been for the airline's fuckups. Now I'm left wishing for a freaking time machine so I can undo this entire week.

Also, for context, we're not rich so paying for the vacation package was a bit of a big deal, not to mention the cost of luggage and check in and such (we hadn't flown anywhere for a few years, and none of us even realized there were separate fees apart from the actual vacation package cost).

I am one of these 'draws fanart for a living' folk and I have to say, I somewhat agree AND disagree with OP to a point.

The problem with this secret is the phrasing. One is not 'entitled' to whining. One is entitled to open communication with a businessman. Whining is what people do because said businessman is not catering to their personal desires and THAT is something no one is entitled to.

I'm 110% on board with clients saying whatever they want (which let me tell you, they really DO bitch and moan, except usually through PMs where no one gets to see it but the author, so the explosion the OP is usually witnessing comes from the 4875654th whiny PM, not the first one) because, well, I've got to keep my ears open for everyone, as a businessperson.

Now, when people complain because they are not being treated with some measure of specialness, it is the artist's right to go "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAno, you don't get to buy my $100 illustrations for $5, haveanicedaydon'tcomeback." if they want. But people who whine are the ones who usually cannot stomach being completely ignored/laughed at for what would amount to going into a store and declaring 'Hey, I saw your Armani jacket there, I really want it, but I have no money, would it be ok if I gave you $5 for it? C'mon I really want it, and you like selling jackets anyways, it's a win-win. Plus it will give you free advertisement. =D'

In my experience, artists are more affronted that clients are usually jackasses when thy are rejected, rather than the endless loop of whining for less money.
